As in YouTube worthy!! You know, a screwup so stupid people would look at the video and say "He staged that!! Nobody is that stupid!" Maybe 100,000 views!
I did plenty of truly incredibly stupid things in my life but it was all a kind of a garden variety type of stupid. As in "Damn that was stupid"! Lots and lots of stupidity in my background but I don't think there is one of those "Nobody is that stupid moments!" (Maybe a near thing a time or two!)😁😉😁
So anyone willing to fess up!!

I guess the most stupid thing I ever did was get in the car with a friend one night back in 1968 that was too drunk to drive. He ran a stop sign and the cops saw him and tried to pull him over and he decided to outrun them like in the song Thunder Road. We didn't just leave the road at 90 like in the song, we left the road in that '56 Chevy at 110 mph, knocked down a power pole, 2 trees and a wooden fence.
To make matters worse I came to in the Ambulance on the way to the hospital and through blurry eyes I recognized the ambulance attendant or EMT as they're called today as a guy I had gotten into a fist fight with only a couple of weeks earlier at the local drive-In. I thought to myself the car crash didn't kill me but this is not going to have a happy ending. I shut my eyes and said to myself well hell I should have known better. I woke up the next day in the hospital surprised to still be on the sunny side.
As I type this 52 years later I can still feel the results of that stupid night to this day.

Like most here , I did my share of monumentally stupid stuff .as a teenager / young adult. Fortunately there were no surveillance cameras / cell phone cameras watching . If you don’t have pictures it did not happen . That’s my story and I’m sticking to it .

WAY more than most and survived. How about driving down the interstate BACKWARDS after trans went out totally intoxicated but driving straight to the next exit about 2 miles. 😪

I've done plenty of stupid stuff and survived. Not mine but I inquired about a Kimber for sale at the local shop and was told the guy shot his pinky off with it trying to take a picture with his finger on the trigger. That's one of those "viral" type things.

Where to start,,grew up in Motorcycle culture,, was riding with a club at 15 and patched at 16, married my my first wife 2 months before my 17th birthday. Paid for my first Harley mostly hustling pool but did a few club things also,, The up side the Club would not let me quit school or get inked,, After I graduated I Managed a Gentleman's club for the Club,, It was an experience,, 21 years old hiring and firing all the girls and setting their schedules. We will not even discuss what all happened there,, When I was 26 the Club I rode in was patched over by a big National club we will not name but they gave me the choice of leaving so I left and started a different life..

not enough space to list most all of mine involved driving I was fearless and would do anything or close when behind the wheel of a car or truck , a few exceptions while not driving but that"s another list
I had one of my closest friends pass away a few years ago he was almost as crazy when driving as I , he was like a btrother when we were younger
why I added that in
I never realized the stories he had told on me . his family had a celebration of life a few days after his funeral , I did not know any of them except my buddies wife and kids , about a hundred friends and family of his were there . any way as I was sitting at a table full of his relatives, I had never seen before one ask who are you ? when I spoke my name it was like a hold the phone moment they all started repeating stories of my past crazy antics while driving (I i never drank when driving ) I must have been a conversation/example of crazy crap for him to share with them over they years . I did have to adjust a few of the stories that seem to have been enhanced a bit
with a user name like ditch-runner well you get the idea . all the local LEO in the two local towns I hung around in all knew me by first name

I was about 11-12 . there was this nice grape vine. only trouble , there was an oak tree about 6" in diameter that was in the way of swinging .
my friend and I looked and looked and decided that it would clear the 34-5K power line. well it Almost DID.
as it hit the lines I thought I could grab it and pull it off the lines. that was the WRONG THING TO DO!!!
when I touched the tree. I was thrown 6-8' away and blood was coming from my nose
I was told the thing that saved me was I had on 5 buckle artics
the second thing was in 1985 driving a 67 chevy pickup from Springfield Va. on 395 or 495 what ever it was and then on rt. 66 to home with no brakes. 3 on the tree and a hand emergency brake

The only reason I did not do something monumentally stupid or killing myself with a stupid action when I was young is very simple. When I was young, defined as before 25 or 30, I did not drink or do any form of drugs. I'm positive this is the reason I lived through my youth.
In reality, I was probably even more stupid than most of you!! I did stupid things but I was not able to blame my idiocy on being drunk or high!!

About '64 a friend and I were discussing how the Nascar drivers usd drafting to conserve fuel. Went out on our local two lane black top with my '58 Ford and his '57 Ford. I got close to his rear bumper and we ran them up to about 120 MPH. I was able to back off to about half throttle and stay on his bumper. All went well until I had to back out of it. When i got out of his draft I about lost it and almost hit a tree. Bad idea.
