What would you pick as the most accurate out of the box bolt action rifle?
Must not be heavier than a varmint weight rifle, or cost more than 1200.00 dollars without scope. Rifle type and caliber. Thanks Steve.

Have a Tikka T3 in .223 that shoots inch groups at 200 yds. consistently.
I like my Tikka, it has a great trigger.

I have an older Rem. 700 22/250 with a heavy brl. topped off with a Leupold VXII 1-4X19 scope. Tack driver and if it weren't for the cost of the ammo today really fun to shoot!

I have a CZ 527 in .22 Hornet that is all that. CZ chambers the .222 and the .223 in this model. It has a single set trigger. Based on my experience I can recommend the rifle.

Anschutz Mdl.54.
End of story.
Dieter Anschutz will always make it right. PERIOD.

Savage, hands down. For out of the box they beat Win, Ruger, Rem, Browning, TC etc, and most of the European box rifles.
Only a custom actions with custom barrels out perform Savage.

Well we have a Savage 116 in 25-06 that is horribly finicky about ammo and isn't that great with what it likes.
Gotta go with the Vanguard/Howa. Haven't found a bad one.

"I’ll second the weatherby vanguard II in .257 weatherby."
Maybe the fastest and hardest hitting .25 but the thin, whippy barrel doesn't produce what I'd call superior accuracy. Actually, in order to get hunting accuracy from mine, I had to add one of the giant O-ring devices to the barrel and wiggle it back and forth until the "sweet spot" was found. Even then we're talking barely MOA accuracy.
The most accurate and shootable bolt action I've shot lately is the TC Compass II in 6.5 Creedmoor. Cloverleafs @ 100 yards and 1/2 MOA @ 300 meters shooting off a bipod and using factory loads.

Bergara Rifles B14S521 B-14 Ridge Wilderness 308 Win 4+1 20" Woodland Camo - Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com : 897381324
Buy Bergara Rifles B14S521 B-14 Ridge Wilderness 308 Win 4+1 20" Woodland Camo: GunBroker is the largest seller of Bolt Action Rifles Rifles Guns & Firearms All: 897381324A buddy got one these and I shot it with factory hunting ammo(I think it was Federal 165gr). He had a Leupold 4x12 scope Maybe a VariX II or III on it. We zeroed it and shot a 5 shot group under and inch at 100 meters. Then moved it out to 300 and the gun was shooting inside a MOA and this is with factory hunting ammo.
I was impressed with both the gun and ammo.

I agree with Sam06. The Bergara rifle is outstanding. The B-14 in .308 would be hard to beat.
