COVID 19 vaccine
I had a visit with my doctor yesterday. He is also my friend. I have work with him several times over the past 25 years.
I mention in an earlier thread I was inclined to get the vaccine but would follow my doctor's advice on the matter. He is a very studious man. I knew he would have been following this technology well before it was used to create the COVID 19 vaccine. His advice is to get the vaccine as soon as possible. I asked him what manufacturer should I look for and he told me it didn't matter.
Just thought I would share this follow up as we had discussed it previously. This is just information on my thought process and activity related to this matter given in case someone wants to incorporate it in to their on decision making process.
I will be getting the vaccine as soon as it is available to me. If I was currently working in patient care I would have already taken it.

Your choice, and no offense to you sir. If my doctor said that to me, I'd be finding a new doctor...

There are two VERY different types of the vaccine available now. So I do believe that the manufacturer matters. One is a cold virus from an ape, the other is mRNA(which has never been approved for use in humans). I am young and healthy so I will personally skip the vaccine for now(will continue to distance and practice good hygiene). IF you decide to get the vaccine, PLEASE research and decide for yourself. Don't depend on anyone elses ideas, esp from a stranger(mine included)!!

(Green font) STOP THAT! How dare you use the opinion of someone that actually has knowledge in the field of of medicine to help you make your decision. After all there are hundreds of internet "experts" warning about the horrible dangers of trusting the advances in modern medicine! (End green font)
Judy, because of her health service volunteering, has had her first dose and had no problems. one day next week she will be helping with a drive up vaccination clinic. She will be monitoring the patients after they get their shots just to make sure any allergic reactions will be detected. She told me to stay home that day and be ready to come in to the clinic in case some of the patients don't make their appointment. Better to use the vaccine dose on me than throw it away because it was thawed for that day. If the supplies of the vaccine ever increase, I will also be getting the shot as soon as possible. Bob

To be clear there are two types of vaccine availability here and both used the same technology. I can't write a book for every post so the statement was to broad I suppose.
My doctor gives away more free healthcare than most could imagine. He has also helped so many of my family members with issues not properly treated by other doctors I'm not even going to try to list them. As I said, the thread is for informational purposes. Everyone makes their own decisions. Because I trust him in no way implies anyone else should. BTW he has already taken the vaccine.

Yeah, why listen to a ............... well ........................ actual doctor, what the hell does he know, only 12 years of school, what an idiot. I'll just shop around till I find a Dr. that agrees with me.
What is wrong with some people? The alternative is very possibly and most likely DEATH.
"your choice"

People should chose what they think is best for them. We share ideas, thoughts, guesses and sometimes facts. The forum has caused me to think or rethink more than once.

I am a 50 something year old that has been working in a grocery store during this pandemic. Only one person in my store (and it is a HUGE chain) has tested positive and had to be off work in quarantine. I haven't even got the flu shot yet this year. Guess I am rolling the dice. When they offer it to us, I will probably get it. But I am OK right now.
Funny thing

I saw a recent video explaining some of the long term side effects of RNA vaccine in test animals. Not real good. And ZERO info on the long term for humans.
There is a 3rd maker almost ready to enter the market. I forget who it is, and what technology.

There are reasons why I call doctors, GQB's.
The are not looking out for me, they are looking out for themselves.
Four years in May, my doctor told me I had two weeks to live. I hate to be lied to.
I gave up GQB's and prescription medications and feel better than I have felt my entire adult life!
As someone said, you have to make the decision for yourself.

Well, I got it. Ain't turned into a zombie yet, and haven't heard Bill Gates whispering instructions inside my head.
After all the things Uncle Sam has shot into my arm over the years, what's one more?

Is it hard to find a doc that is against the vaccine?

My wife, two of my cousins, and my brother in law's girlfriend are nurses and they all got it. My brother in law is a Physicians Assistant he got it. My 76 year old father got it a few days ago, my 74 mother should be eligible next week in our state. I'll be getting it.
We've always believed in the benefits of vaccinations and this one is no different. I can understand people who have always been skeptical on the science having the same views this time around.
Its a personal choice and between the 30 million people who have had COVID (including a few in my family), and those willing to get vaccinated we should get enough community immunity soon.
My wife has been assisting with administering vaccine. They've been hitting 2,000 a day for the past two weeks and have only had one allergic reaction, which was solved with an epipen and a few hours in the ER for monitoring.

The pfizer and moderna vax are both RNA vaccines. Astra Zenica is based on cold virus.
Three COVID Vaccines Compared
One coronavirus vaccine is already being given in the United States, another could be administered by the end of the year and a third could follow soon after. Here's details of each. The Forbes article is very informative. If you read it and take in the information without any pre determined expectations, you can extrapolate what may or may not be an issue, and what may or may not be the benefit.

Well- Uncle Sam shot me with Yellow Fever, the Plague & Anthrax series among many others.
I will take the COVID vaccine knowing the probability is, I am doing something more likely to help my family than hurt my family.

You might want to check out this one from Johnson & Johnson. It is a one shot vaccine vs the two shot regimen of the others. For those that intend to get the vaccine a single shot version will pick up the pace for getting large numbers of people through the program. Bob

Every one makes choices so I choose not to get the vaccine. No real need to give reasons other than what I just said. I don't believe ANY of the stuff being reported about the virus. Most of the information being tossed around is false either due to lack of knowledge or intentional falsehoods.
One of my employees died of the virus months before it's presence was actually made public and both her husband and myself had the same symptoms and survived. The current publicity program is disgusting and morally wrong as far as I'm concerned. According to some second hand information related to me there haven't been any deaths by natural causes other than "Covid related" in several counties in north MO since this whole kerfuffle began. Of the local "Covid related" deaths, I knew several of those folks and can attest that they were literally on death's door step and might have died from anything but all were "COVID related".

I want the vaccine, I want the single dose one, I don't care how it was made or by whom. I am needle-phobic, double that for IM injections, so I will go get the shot and probably cry like a two year old getting it.

Is it hard to find a doc that is against the vaccine?
Among the doctors I know well enough to call a friend or have a friendly acquaintance with none have warned me away from it and they are getting it themselves. I'm sure there are some doctors warning against it but I haven't found one yet. Next week I'm meeting up with several doctors to down a few beers, tell stories, and swap ideas. I'm sure the subject will be discussed.

I will take the COVID vaccine knowing the probability is, I am doing something to more likely to help my family than hurt my family.
That is the major reason I will get it. So I decrease the risk I bring it home or spread it else where. I have a good friend with late stage cancer I spend time with and if I can decrease his risk that's important.

When you are 75 what are you worried about long term effects for?
Get the damn shot and hope it keeps the virus from killing you in the few years you have left!

So some have asked if they could find a doctor against the vaccine? It doesn't take much searching to find information if you are honest with yourself and have an open mind. here are two links well worth watching (the first link) and reading (the second link).
32 Doctors from 11 Countries Warn against Taking the COVID-19 Vaccine - Red Pill University
3.3 (283) There are strong reasons to believe the COVID-19 vaccine is dangerous. Only those who who know nothing about the criminal record of vaccine manufacturers or the history of vaccine injuries would agree to [...]I realize there are zealots on both sides of this issue here in this forum, but if you take the time be honest in your own research you may find that what you are being told is not always the truth....

According to the government...
If I get vaccinated:
1.- Can I stop wearing the mask?
Government Response - No
2.- Can they reopen restaurants, pubs, bars etc and everyone work normally?
Government Response - No
3.- Will I be resistant to covid?
Government Response - Maybe, but we don't know exactly, it probably won't stop you getting it
4.- At least I won't be contagious to others anymore?
Government Response - No you can still pass it on, possibly, nobody knows.
5.- If we vaccinate all children, will school resume normally?
Government Response - No
6.- If I am vaccinated, can I stop social distancing?
Government Response - No
7.- If I am vaccinated, can I stop disinfecting my hands?
Government Response - No
8.- If I vaccinate myself and my grandfather, can we hug each other?
Government Response - No
9.- Will cinemas, theatres and stadiums be reopened thanks to vaccines?
Government Response - No
10.- Will the vaccinated be able to gather?
Government Response - No
11.- What is the real benefit of vaccination?
Government Response - The virus won't kill you.
12.- Are you sure it won't kill me?
Government Response - No
13.- If statistically the virus won't kill me anyway ... Why would I get vaccinated?"
Government Response - To protect others.
14.- So if I get vaccinated, the others are 100% sure I'm not infecting them?
Government Response - No
So to summarize, the Covid19 vaccine...
Does not give immunity.
Does not eliminate the virus.
Does not prevent death.
Does not guarantee you won’t get it.
Does not prevent you from getting it.
Does not stop you passing it on
Does not eliminate the need for travel bans.
Does not eliminate the need for business closures.
Does not eliminate the need for lockdowns.
Does not eliminate the need for masking.
So...what the hell is it actually doing?

Would whoever anonymously disagreed with Ruger4me's post above please point to anything in that post that is inaccurate?
Don't just poke the silly anonymous disagree button! Have the common courtesy to lay out how or why you disagree.
I've hit that dang thing in the past but am going to try and refrain from doing so in the future.

My son's girlfriend just got the shot & said it HURT for a day. I have been thinking of waiting for the one shot vaccine. I will get the vaccine but I may wait.

I was tested positive on 12-30, I had 1st symptoms on 12-24. I still have the darn cough. It was not fun, that is for sure, but I will not take the vaccine.

Well, it's on the internet, so it must be true, right?
I wonder......what state actors might benefit from sewing misinformation that dissuades Americans from getting the vaccine and keeps the country pinned down in pandemic-mode?
If you're going to question motives, go for it. But.....don't be short-sighted. Look at all the angles. Consider not only the most dangerous scenario (US government conspiracy), but also the most likely scenario (foreign misinformation), and everything in between.
