In order to keep a long-running gun forum tradition alive, we must now tell you that a Cessna 182 is junk, nothing but carp. Nothing less than a Lear Jet is good enough.

Oh Rocky... The Lear is sooo yesteryear. What Bruce really needs is a Hondajet.

But my barber's niece's stock advisor said he ordered a HondaJet and they were weeks late delivering it, and when they did, one of the tray tables was broken. So they're junk, too. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Lear is like a 1911 of airplanes.

I figured you may get a chopper .

But, you also can't lose if you don't play...

"One thing's for certain. You won't win if you don't play.".................not true, according to my e-mail I win 2 or3 three of these a day

With only a 200 million to 1 lottery odds you stand a chance of getting another. Good luck.

  • Brookwood

The only way you're going to win at that lotto game is if you take ALL of those proceeds from the sold airplane and spend it all at once on tickets. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Then! When you get tired of sorting out all of the 1 and 2 dollar winners and recover the tiny miniscule amount you spent, you'll have a much better story of being IRKED to post here! ๐Ÿ˜

Seriously! Congrats on the sale of your plane bpost!

Boats may be a hole in the water where you pour money, but a plane makes your cash disappear into thin air.

I almost had to hit the disagree button here, but such punitive action seems overboard and I restrained myself. Close call!

You should know, sadly, LearJet as a business stopped manufacturing planes in Q4 2021.

I think his only option is to find a nice, used Cessna 172H and simply build his own airport.

The real question gentlemen, is what oil will he be running in the new plane?

Bruce, glad you doubled your money. Hope you replace it with what you want. Sorry the airport is going to the dogs.

Just donโ€™t do like I did. I bought property, built a runway, used it twice and then sold my โ€˜48 170! Duhโ€ฆ.

I have friends coming in now and then and that is great.

I still have the XP-TALON for sale but it is too fast for the grass runway.

If you double you money, will Uncle Sam want part of it?

  • Rocky Raab

Dano, I've never owned an airplane either. But Uncle Sugar loaned me quite a few.

Well - someone won 'MegaMillions' - but it wasn't me. Otherwise I would be on the way to Savannah, Georgia to have them build me a long-range 8 seater jet and to Moultrie, Georgia to have Maule build me a 'Mule' with the biggest 'Thrush' turbo-prop the could shoe-horn into the cowling. Best Regards - AQH

I've never owned a boat or an airplane. Are planes as much of a money pit as boats?

There are more planes under water, than there are boats in the air. A big boat is the way to go.

Long range planes have flotation devices, but I have never seen a ship equipped with parachutes.

You need a B29 Or B26 or if you want a single engine go with a P47 or 51. Hard to mount guns on a 182.

Bruce, get yourself a Grumman Widgeon! Best of both worlds. A boat and a plane!

Famous aviator, Merill Wein, lived on the airport where I lived. He had one and I went up with him a couple of times. Had a blast landing on some local lakes.

Cessna 182?? Nahhhhh, what you really want is a Maule M7 Super Rocket 235.

This is how we got to the gold mine and back.

I think it's obvious that a Cessna won't satisfy anyone's need for speed.

How about a Mig 29 with low hours ?

This was out on the lake a couple of summer ago, Bruce. If I see it this summer, do you want me to ask about pricing?

Here is another goose, Bruce. However this one is on my roof.

I flew on Wein air in Alaska many times years ago, maybe with him in the left seat.
