If you were going to buy a full sized 9MM which 9 would you choose??
A full sized 9MM to be used for defense, plinking and any other use I might dream up for this 9. To be used with the open sights that come with the pistol. No aftermarket parts, trigger jobs, etc., to be used as it comes out of the box. Emphasis to be placed on reliability, accuracy, durability and the ability to not only go "bang" every time I pull the trigger but eject and feed after every "bang".
I guess I'm looking for a piece I can completely trust. OMG!! I think I just described a HiPoint!! 🤣😁😋

I have several prospects in mind but I'm curious as to the GB members thoughts. You might point me in a direction I haven't considered. The problem in my search, as I see it, is there are so many really great choices out there!!

There are so many outstanding, affordable 9mm guns, I would say it’s almost hard to go wrong.
Glock, Sig, CZ, Springfield Armory, Canik. The list goes on.

There is no such thing as a full sized 9mm.

Glock 17 if it must be full size. Personally, I would choose a Glock 19. Full size grip, 15 rounds in the mag, small enough to carry concealed, dead nuts reliable, accurate. If you want a D/A the Beretta 92, or Sig 226, CZ75, would all work. Don't overlook the 1911 in 9mm.

I have 2 colt 1911 in 9mm. One 5" govt, and a commander.
Always gone bang, never any issues.
You just need to get what you like, and excites you.

I have a Browning HP that I love dearly. Lordy Lordy that HP is accurate!! But I've pretty much turned her into a safe queen. Got a Glock 19 with a Trijicon reflex on it. Like it. Like it a lot but I really prefer open sights. I have been thinking about a Sig. Maybe a Beretta, but more likely the Sig. Some of you have made some suggestions I hadn't thought of but will check them out.
I want to handle the Springfield High Power clone. If it feels like my High Power the search may be over!!
All of us are living in a world of amazing top quality handguns. The choices are incredible. I just hope we will have these great choices 5-10 years from now, that these great quality pieces won't have been confiscated and melted down. 😫😔😪😓

I've never had a problem with my 5906 but I'm an old chromogen and like all steel. Having a camp 9 helped with my decision.

Also just about the worst factory trigger in the modern era.
There are row boats that require less effort to use.

You think that the trigger on a P320 is worse than the trigger on an OEM Glock or the Browning HP? Really?

I believe it was Mr. Nunn, years ago who said he used a p85 for training new shooters. Never cleaned it, just tortured it for thousands of rounds, and it worked every time. I think he might have also said it was ugly and looked like a brick, but you didn't emphasize good looks.

Actually an HK USP.

SIG 226. I have put thousands of rounds through it shooting competition, practicing, and plinking. It is also my carry gun when I want 9mm. It has never missed a beat. When I want 45 I carry a SIG 220.
