Lucky he wasn't close and brought you the gun in pieces. Nothing like assembling a firearm you have not disassembled.

He is still the moron....I fixed my error, but he didn't have to steal anything in the process. Its like renting a car and finding a phone in it and calling the phone "yours". You can be an intelligent, functioning, caring, person that goes through life with an error here and there and NOT be the moron......when you decide anything not nailed down becomes your property to do with as you please, you ARE the moron.

crime of opportunity he may be a good guy most of the time 🤨

he received a box with items he did not order of pay for shipper error no matter in the eye of the receiver so do I send them back or just keep sell them . of course if his box was missing parts would be 100% different response

I will also guess most are getting use to big busyness just moving on and forgetting they made a mistake or even trying to find it how many packages do UPS Fed ex , post office Amazon deliver wrong and just replace and move on I know they have done that many times sad fact of today

I am glad you were able to find them I am sure at no small effort or $$ to make it right for the buyer who was looking for there parts congrats on the good job on that

Hard to figure out how some folks mind works.....It would seem any decent human would have contacted you about the situation and sent it back.

I messed up once and sent the wrong items to two folks. One of them contacted me and told me of the error. I made contact with both, apologized, sent them the postage necessary to sent the items to the right place and some extra cash for their trouble. Both were very gracious and it all ended well. But it bothered me for a long time !!!

So let yourself off the hook....and focus on something good !

Thank you and thank you all for encouraging words and comedic relief. I'm much calmer now and I'm focused on shipping now.....UGH! I will never understand how some people go through life doing the things they do though. I've found money on the ground and spent an entire football game trying to figure out who dropped it (one of my son's games.) I just can't see how people go on with life taking advantage of situations and other's bad luck.

Did you catch the part where the person SOLD property accidently sent with an auction they won. Most folks would have

at least checked in about the property before just selling it.

Last night I made the mistake of stopping before turning left (with signal on while I was waiting) to make sure the oncoming car didn't t-bone me. It turns out I had plenty of time to make the turn, but this idiot comes roaring up behind me, not slowing or stopping. The oncoming car goes by. I start to make the turn and the moron roaring up behind me decides he's going to pass me on the left. Fortunately I saw that and stopped trying to turn. At the last second he decides NOT to pass me, and slams on the breaks in our lane skidding sideways. He's clearly going to rear end me, so I complete my left turn as he goes on down the road to harass the next driver.

Two Rugers sitting next to each other on the shelf. The original grip frame and some extra parts were attached by rubber band to the box that it went with. Somehow the rubber band didn't keep the bag of parts with the correct box and it was just sitting on the shelf between the two Rugers. One got the bag of parts....the wrong one, of course.

A while back, I ordered curbside pickup groceries from Walmart. When I got home, I found some bananas in the bags. I had not ordered bananas, and was not charged for them. Was I obligated to drive 25 miles back to Walmart to return said bananas? Call Walmart and try to pay for the bananas? Box up the bananas, drive to the post office and ship the bananas back to Walmart?

If I ate the bananas, would I be a moron and a thief, or are occasional mistakes the cost (to Walmart) of doing business?

    BREAK BREAK

Sorry you had to deal with all of that. Sounds like quite the hassle.

I seem to remember reading that ol Abraham Lincoln walked five miles one time to return a penny. I remember thinking, what a dumb thing to do.

How was the "moron" supposed to know that the Ruger parts didn't go with the Ruger Pistol he just bought? Were they for a different Model?

Frog, next time to wall fart mention the free nanners to the manger and offer to pay for them. I would think he would say thanks for the offer but you don't us anything. Make both of you feel good.

Shoe on the other foot, I bet the person who ordered nanners and did not receive them had a hissie fit.

I bought a table saw at auction which included a box-o-parts. At home I found a part for another saw & called the auction house. They could have cared less. 😕 Kasey, you did good.

That's exactly what we did, and how it went. BUT...if I didn't happen to be going back there, I doubt I would have driven all the way back to town for THEIR foul-up.

Now, let's consider another scenario that supports the OP. Say you go to the ATM late at night and it mistakenly gives you $10,000 instead of the $100 you asked for. Is it the bank's foul-up and no fault of your own? Yep. Can you keep it like the bananas? Nope. You will go to jail if you try.

Unless you have enough money in your account to cover it...

Hey that jogs my memory. Last year I stopped at the drive up at BBT (my bank) and asked that a check be cashed for several hundred dollars. When the money came out of the vacuum tube there was a lot more cash than there should have been. The young lady was very happy when I hit the call button and sent the money back.
