A tuna salad on wheat bread. The tuna salad is made with Miricle Whip, dill pickles and hard boiled eggs !

Followed closely by a Rubin sandwich as my 2nd choice ! ....

Dude. Forgot about a good homemade Tuna sandwich. (Gotta B w/Miracle Whip.) Fine diced celery, pickle relish, wheat bread, & a mashed up hard boiled egg, whatever sliced cheese I have on hand, lettuce, Tomato. Mmmnnnn..........................Mmmnnn.....................

Unfortunately, no Jersey Mike's in little podunk Mtn. City. We got Subway, but Mikes BBQ, makes some rockin' Subs. (Not cheap though.)

There is a place about 10-15 mi. (ea. way) from me, that makes the best Cheese Steak I have found down here. Been a few years since I've had one. I've been making my own, that rock.

Thanks for the contributions. Please continue.........................................

    * Just got home from work about 1/2 hr ago. Feeling BLT's again. This will be 4th night in a row. 3 ea. night. Mmmnnn good. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

3 or 4 of the McRib sandwiches

Have they ever identified what kind of meat those are made from ???? ๐Ÿ˜œ

Not that it stopped me from eating one from time to time !!

I remember reading a couple/three years back on some forum, (this one?) That someone saw one before it had been coated in BBQ sauce. His comment - "It was Grey, like a Corpse." Pretty much cured me from EVER wanting to try one. (Not a big McD fan at all, anyway.)

The McRib contains an ingredient called Azodicarbonamide. Azodicarbonamide is an ingredient used to make plastic products and soft foam objects like yoga mats and shoes.

Back about '79 I took a tour of a beef packing plant as part of a college class I was enrolled in. We saw the bins where the 'meat' went for Purina and for McDonald's. The Purina bin looked like it was getting the better bits! Cartilage, eyeballs, and buttholes went in the McD's bin. It's 100% pure beef, but they don't tell you what parts of the beef!

Before that day I used to regularly go get a couple 1/4 pounders for lunch. I haven't eaten in a McD's since that day!

    You're missing out then

Reminds me of the red hot dogs that used to be sold at gas stations here. The best were at the truck stop on the south end of town. 3/$1, and so good, you'd almost get a tear in your eyes. Stopped one day with a buddy of mine, and as I recall, we downed 10 or 12 between the two of us. Talk about hit the spot, after spending the day up in the woods, cutting and hauling firewood. I sat back in my seat, about to burst, and asked "you know, as good as they taste, I wonder what they put in 'em". His answer? "Every part of the pig from the rooter to the tooter!"๐Ÿคฃ

A fried 1/2" thick slice of bologna, with a fried egg, and sharp cheddar, on whole wheat with miracle whip. Next is a fried venison backstrap steak (left over) with a slice of tomato on a hamburger bun, miracle whip.

a good substitute for the "bacon" is bacon flavored spam, sliced thin and fried is almost as good as bacon and about half the price, plus it is the size of a hamburger bun if sliced on the big side. have a granddaughter who is a bacon monster, she likes the spam just as good if fried crisp............

There was a little hole in the wall cafe near here that sold "The Mad Cow Special" Fried Brain sandwich. They are out of business now. Makes you wonder !๐Ÿ˜ฎ

There's a jewish deli where I always get their signature sandwich called a yummy. Corn beef, pastrami and Swiss cheese heated lightly and served on rye๐Ÿ˜›

  • Toolman286

    Obviously not a kosher deli.

Of course, I would add fired onions.

One of the ONLY things I miss from the NY/NJ area, are the killer Deli's and the Diners.

Good food, to be sure. ๐Ÿ‘
