Looking to buy a ZT mower......
Leaning towards the Gravely ZX for the acre or so of level grass that I need to mow. Any opinions?

These are getting like the "Chili, beans or no beans" threads.
We just beat this to death about a week or so ago. Maybe look at that one, Todd. π€

I mow about the same amount and bought a Kawasaki powered Hustler Raptor about 8 years ago.Zero problems. It even has the original battery, but Gravely makes good machines.

Oakie posted he ended getting the Toro. Perhaps he can give you a review.

I guess that between the Chili bean/no bean and the XP-100 threads, I missed it......

Most definitely horns. Otherwise they can't honk.

We have a 52" Ariens. I would give it a Five Star Review!! It is a beast, I love it!!
My love for this Ariens ZT mower is aided by the fact we got a smokin' deal on it from Lowe's!! It is hard to beat great quality at a great price!!

Well, they're a bit off anyway so no worries.
On a serious note (and in the spirit of getting this thread back on track) have you looked at the Walker mowers?
They're probably a bit more money but they sure have a good reputation and you can attach a snow blower if you need to. A buddy of mine runs one of their bigger models in his lawn maintenance business.

Bobcat is what I bought, residential grade with commercial grade deck and wheels.
Which ever brand you choose, get the welded deck and one that has grease zerks on the spindles. Those are the MAIN problems with residential mowers.
Remember, ALL brands have very cheap and low quality mowers and VERY expensive high end products. Key is getting the options you need for a price you can afford. Id avoid any and all stamped decks!

You need one like mine. Heater, A/C, power steering, horn, 6' mower deck, 4WD, 4-way flashers, set up for a radio, frt. & back work lights, and attachments to do most anything. π

Bubba, did you just wax that Kubota? ( it needs a few more safety decalsπ)

Go with the Gravely, Todd. Mine's been indestructible. I only have to clean under the deck a couple of times a year.
Make sure you get the best seat available.

I have enough problems with the deer Steve, I don't need any goats. I've narrowed it down to two mowers, the TORO 50" Time Cutter, or the Gravely 50" XT. Both have the Kawasaki engine that I want. The Toro would be bought from Home Depot and the Gravelly would be bought from a local dealer.
Even though the Gravelly is about $700 more, I think I'd be better off going thru a local dealer than going thru HD in case there were any issues. I have a buddy who works for Pape Equipment on small engine/tractor stuff and he mentioned that they won't work on Toro's anymore because they have a hard time getting parts for them. I also went to the local Deere dealer who does the warranty work for HD and he said the same thing.

Mine has cruise control also. It also has a pedal to lock the rear tires for better traction. and a bunch of other goodies that I've forgotten.

No, that picture was taken about 5 minutes after the truck delivered it, and about 10 minutes before he loaded up my Kubota B2910 trade-in.

and the local dealer is more likely to do the warranty work quicker or at least bump you to the front of the line, vs getting any warranty work done on a purchase from Lowes or Home Depot.....

LOCAL dealer, you won't be sorry.

I have one of these. Fifty years old and cuts a lot of grass quickly. Six foot deck and thirty horse diesel.

Cant go wrong with a Gravely I have a 52" with the Kawasaki 23 hp motor. The oil change routine will make you cuss but it can be done.

I ended up getting a 50" Toro. Absolutely love it. What I like the most is, I can change speed, without disengaging the blades or stopping. Very comfortable and I like the arm rest. It was 4,300, but we caught a sale and paid 3,800, at home depot in Delaware. No taxes is a bonus. Saved enough, that we bought a new pressure washer with the 500 dollar savings.

I have no idea what that is??? Heck, I don't even cut the grass. My wife does that. She loves cutting the grass and doing yard work.
