Looking to buy a ZT mower......
Leaning towards the Gravely ZX for the acre or so of level grass that I need to mow. Any opinions?

Couple of years ago I got the Toro 42" which makes it easier for me to go around trees and I have a bunch of trees. The 42" will also fit through my fence gates. I got the "my ride" version that makes it comfortable on bumpy ground. I ordered mine direct through Toro and they delivered it to my local Toro dealer who set it up, delivered it, and gave me instructions on using it free of charge. Also, as mentioned earlier. get the welded steel deck.

Now that this has been discussed rather well I will add my two cents worth.
Buy what you want to buy, they are all pretty good. A motor with an oil filter and pressurized lube system is best but even splash motors will last a long time. The key is maintenance. I changed the oil and filter four times before I had 100 hours on my Kawasaki engine equipped Country Clipper joy stick steering unit. Good clean oil, keeping the deck washed or blown off and never overheating the transmissions will assure a long happy life for you.

I had planned on going with Gravely, but forgot that we had a full line Toro dealer on the edge of town. I went and spoke with them, but they didn't have the model, with the engine in stock that I wanted. As per their recommendations, I did as cndrdk did, and ordered one thru Toro. Should have a 50" Toro TimeCutter with a Kawasaki engine here in less than two weeks.
Thanks for the advice.

That is the mower we bought. 50" cut. We also sprayed the underside with a Rino liner, to prolong the life.

One more thing. That round cubby hole on the side is not a beer holder. After 10 minutes of mowing your beer will be flat and undrinkable from the bouncing.

@jimdeere you are not drinking it fast enough...😁

The round cubby hole is for the next unopened beer! Never put down a beer once opened! 😁
