Bought A New Toy Today - (Photo added to show what a "Toy" it is.)
125cc, Rival Motorsports, Trail Hawk ATV. ($1800 OTD)
4 Stroke auto, front/rear disc brakes. Rear rack. (Already mounted two Milk crates onto it.)
Will do 45mph. Pull wheelies and throw gravel/dirt in a hard turn on throttle.
Unfortunately, it does not have enough low end grunt to get me up really steep trails. (4 stroke w/auto trans.) If it was a two stroke w/gears, maybe. Next size up (250cc) was almost a $1K more.
Have been tooling around the Holler and exploring side trails since about 1pm. Liking it. 👍

It was no huge crisis for a few weeks. I live well off the beaten track, trust all my neighbors and you can not even see the door is open from the gravel road that services about 5-7 houses back in here. (Off the tiny/curvy Holler main road.) One way in, turn around at the end, same way out. Only Locals come back in here and we watch out for each other. No through traffic.
The last time I had a appliance delivery from Lowes and two guys came to my house, (couple years back) in an unmarked small panel truck, they were here less than 10 min. and two of my neighbors came over with Side Arms, to see what they were doing. 👍😁
Garage door guy came last week, gonna be a total door replacement. (as I thought.) Waiting on my insurance Co. to cut me a check. (I'll eat $500) 4-5 weeks for the door to come in.

(Also) It occurred to me on the way home from work this evening, I can switch out front/rear Sprockets to get more low end, when I want to go trail riding. (Long time motorcycle rider, dirt bikes too.) Right now, its about perfect for anything except the steep stuff. (Which) Is not a huge surprise to me. I knew I would be making sacrifices with the 125cc vs. the 250cc. What the bigger ATV will do that this one can not, (currently,) [We'll see what happens with some replaceble mods. and a K&N air cleaner kit.] was not worth the extra $1K to me. 🤔
My choice, my decision and I have absolutely no problem with it. This thing is worth every bit of $1800. The Giggle Factor, is Very High. 😉😂
Tooling around in the evenings w/friends on ATV's and visiting everyone has been great. 👍😁
The $$ I saved, is to be put back in to my house, new roof, new wrap around deck, $500 garage door deductible, etc. Plan on retiring end of next mo. Keeping some $$ in the bank. Could I have paid cash and bought a much nicer ATV? 🤔 Yes. I'm playing it smart and keeping some $$ in the bank.
I have purchased quite a tidy sum ($$) in firearms this past year. (Easily close to $5K.) Yeah, I coulda' bought a REALLY nice ATV with that, but I have varied interests and priorities.
I also plan on selling my Dual Sport BMW and my small Nissan commuter car. Will be looking at a UTV from these same guy's. They start around $10K.
In the meantime, I have something to play with. 👍😁

Day Off.
Adjusted the Shocks pre-load from 0 (softest) to 5 (firmest) and backed out the throttle limiting screw. (Which had been restricted/screwed in.) That improved things quite a bit. 😁 (Which were already okay/acceptable.) A sprocket change (when Trail riding) and a K&N Air cleaner kit, will change things up as well.
This ATV is 59" long, that's just short of 5'. As the photo of it mounted on the trailer behind my Jeep shows, it is adult sized. (Not sure where the video someone presented came from.) Perhaps there is a Kid's vs. Adult version of the Trailhawk? Haven't looked in to it, don't care.
Already liked it. No regrets on my purchase. 👍
Highly recommend it to someone looking for a ATV, without breaking the bank. Obviously not as good as a higher cc model off-road, but if your primary mission is tooling around the neighborhood (at up to 45 mph) and moderate trails. This works. 😀
