Where to move
We are still thinking about a move out off Commiforina... We don't think we really want the humidity of Kansas... Thinking about the Texas Hill Country still.... It's mostly a weather thing. Don't want to deal with cold Winters or high humidity. We have high humidity but it never gets hot enough...

You'd be welcome in Tennessee, as long as you don't bring any liberals with you. We have a conservative super-majority in the House, Senate, and Governor's Mansion (except for the urban centers of Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga. The standing joke about liberals has, for many years, been "Welcome to Tennessee." "Now spend your dollars and go home." Beautiful green country, and normally a temperate climate, rarely approaching 100* or colder than the mid teens. Humidity can get a little high, though.

Being about 20 miles south of the Red River.............
We don't call our annual tournament........The Tornado Alley Racquetball Classic......for nothin'!!!(see April 10th 1979)😳🤯
Also.....last weekend The Hotter'n Hell Hundred was held. The largest(about 12,000) annual 100 mile bicycle ride in the country. I suffered through it twice, in the late '80's.
BTW.......last Saturday it reached 108 degrees.🥵🥵
But..........it's home. 😌😊

Finding a place to call home takes a lot of thought and planning. Not everyone has the same criteria for importance but for me, being somewhat close to family and a few friends was big on my list.
Another was being within 10 miles away from good grocery, hardware, Doctors, dentists, VA Clinic, a good Hospital, and nice recreation\park lands. All other good things like lakes, rivers, and streams without driving too far was also very nice!
The weather that comes with any given territory will always be a factor but there really is no place on earth that is perfect for everyone. I have spent most of my life in a place that has all 4 seasons. Each offers a lot of fun activities if you dress appropriately. Being retired, I still appreciate snow days. Having to go nowhere and relaxing in the comfort of a warm house all while watching birds and wildlife out the windows.
Lastly, but still very important are the political issues and costs of living that are very different in many areas of the US. My hometown that I moved 40 miles away from some 8 years ago is a place I could never even afford to move back to! Actually, a good thing as I would not ever want to anyway. Now just an overpriced, over populated, liberal traffic jam where tourists come to visit but decide to stay!
I wish you well on your decision to move Lady Rae! Hope you find a place where you will be happy for many years to come!

West Central Ohio is basically farm country. We built our house a few miles north of the closest village. Pretty much no crime, fairly mild winters (except for the once in a lifetime freakshow). Great, friendly people, and not too far from a few big cities to find that elusive whatever you are looking for.
Oh and don't forget Ohio is a Constitutional carry state with a (R) Governor.
