Liberty safe controversy
Curious on the opinions here-
A man charged with participating in the January 6th riots was being served a search warrant by the FBI.
The FBI contacted Liberty safes and requested access to this person’s gun safe. There was no warrant from the FBI to Liberty.
Liberty at their own admission provided a “backdoor” code to the suspects safe to the FBI.
Liberty has now come under fire from many for violating their customers security without requiring due process. Liberty has since backtracked have now provided customers a way to “opt out” from the master database of backdoor entry codes & have stated they will no longer provide law enforcement access to customer safes without a warrant.

I think they found it in the house when they served the search warrant. Since most safe companies proudly proclaim their provenance with large ornate lettering on the door it was probably easy to figure out who to call. With a search warrant, they were going to get into the safe one way or another regardless of what Liberty did. I don't like Liberty rolling over so fast but searching the contents of the safe was going to happen anyway. How much damage to the safe, safe contents or the home by either forcing it open there or moving the entire safe out of the house seems to be overlooked by most. Bob
I think someone else made a very similar point to this one. 😁

Agree with Mr.P and bobjudy. Don't like it, but that's what it is.
