Prayers for you and your family Ken. My mom passed away last month, so I know what you're battling.

I feel for you Ken. Recently, my aunt made 100 & then went down hill. In the end she didn't know us. It's a sad place to be.

Thank You All. Your Support, Comments, Good Wishes and Prayers have been a Great Help through this.

I share more of myself here, than anywhere. It has been a big help.

*In some ways, this long drawn out process has been more cruel/difficult than a rapid passing.

I've been Praying to God/Jesus recently, just to "Please, Take Me Quickly, When It Is Time."

My mother had dementia, and my father had Alzheimer's, I was in your shoes with both of my parents and my stepfather. It's not easy, but you just do what needs to be done, and bury them when it's over. The way my memory has deteriorated, I might be in the same fix as they were.

Prayers sent. My mom was in an alternative world where snakes chased little people around the potted plants in her room for roughly a year - then suddenly went back to her normal self and didn't even remember I had been visiting. You just never know.

    Thank you all.

Just received a text from my Sister. Mom rested peacefully last night. They have all the monitors off so she can rest. My Sister is saying She is not really waking up any more even when people are talking to her.

Sadly it's been my experience that when they get to that stage the end is near. When my stepfather got to that point I held his hand and talked to him, and every time he heard my voice he raised his eyebrows, so I knew he heard me.

You might try that. I've been through this 4 times with my parents and my step-parents. It doesn't get any easier.

You and your sister have done all you can, and can take solace that her pain will soon be over.

Wish I had an answer or words to take this feeling of chaos go away. I can only say I’m sorry, and with the help of the lord you and your family will get though this time of feeling helpless. I will pray that are Heavenly Father will touch and comfort her, and be with you and your family.

Sister just texted, Mom is being sedated and moved from the Step Down unit at the Hospital, to a Hospice bed at the same Hospital. (Wake Forest.)

It must take "Special People," to be able to work there. God Bless these Angels on Earth.

Ken, if it comes to that, Good Samaritan is a great hospice provider. The were wonderful when my daughter passed.

I don't know if they serve your area.

Dr. Saying perhaps 3-6 days. Hard to say.

Personally, I consider it a Blessing. Her Quality of Life has degraded to such a point, (if it were me) just let me go.

She can finally be with my Dad, who is waiting for her.

Never easy for us left behind, but it's time for her to go home. Let her know it is ok to go. Prayers.

I hope you can be with her when she passes. It was very helpful to me to be with my mother.

    It is a Blessing.
