I have always liked the original Broncos going back to seeing Hank Kimball driving one on Green Acres

kudos to you for even adimitting to that……..

To be honest, I wanted a Camero. The used car lot salesman (who didn't have one to sell) promised me that the Matador was sooooo much better! The guy had salesmanship trophy's all over his office. He had a gift of gab and I was happy at the time of closing on the deal.

My wife's first words to me when I drove it home were; "Did Batman retire and get rid of his Batmobile?" 😯 😁

Allen, hunting partner had the same VW beast. Our families got together to go camping in the Adirondacks. Looked in rear view mirror on NYS Thruway and white smoke all over from the beast behind me. Drove about 100 yards and NYS Trooper on cross over. I asked for distance to next exit. He said it you tow that VW I will give you a ticket. After you get thru toll gate i don't care what you do. He called tow truck and it cost $75 to tow the beast one half mile to toll gate. Put a rope on it and towed it from New Paltz to VW dealer in Newburgh. What a wild ride that was. Cost a fortune to rebuild and it lasted about six months and my pard gave up the beast. —-Ray

    '71 Plymouth Cuda.

Frequently driven on the weekends . . . a rather short distance at a rather quick speed with a really weird traffic light and some other guy right beside me.

I have pics - somewhere - but it would be tough to get them out, scan them, and upload to the internet.

Yes, I still wish I had it.

1976 Chevy Stepside Chevy. It was 3 years old and the front fenders wwere starting to rust out. I coached Little League baseball and would load the team up and travel across the county to away games.

In '79 I had a '75 Chevy half ton short box, black with red/silver racing stripes on the hood with a 350 four barrel. Got about 8/10 mpg but I had my foot in it a lot. Also had a '78 Honda CM400T. It threw a rod a few years later at 8000 miles and I gave it to a friend.

Had the Chevy until '82 when I traded it on a new Ford F-150 4x4 4-speed, inline six 300.

I remember the VW Scirocco. I had a VW 411 before the Matador. I think IMMIC it was a 71 model. It had lots of room in it and the up front trunk was kind of cool.

I wanted one of those VW Scirocco but ended up with a VW Rabbit. I had one like this, but it was the fancier LS model. It got around 36mpg and always wished it was a diesel. It was not a very good car as I took good care of it and around 85000 miles it was about shot.
