I accidentally stepped on my glasses and broke them.  No spare.  I immediately called the V.A. eye clinic in Reno, Nv.  They notified the supplier and I received a new pair  in the mail in five days, no charge!  Great people.  Eddie

  Had been using  wife's plan, till she retired, (that's another  story),  So  went to  a medicare  advantage plan. actually  pretty  decent, pays each back $ 200.00 in a debit  Card.

  Advantage Insurance  kept  leaving me messages, about  medicare  requiring  eye exam. 

  So I  made an appointment..  Dr  says Dave,  its time for  cataract  surgery.  I said  my new  advantage plan  won't  cover it., he  smiles  and  said but VA  will.  I had no idea  that  was covered. I knew  I  could  get  glasses  but not  surgery.

   I'm, 3 months in  and  I'm glad I did. Still have to  reach for  readers for  close up  to  read a book. Other  wise I'm free from  50+ years of having glasses on  my  face.

  I do find I have to  wear  sunglasses  more often due to some glare.
