Out of Control Shipping Costs

Applies to many items for sale/auction on the site.

Fees are way out of control. Being forced to pay about $50 bucks now just for shipping a single gun purchase is Crazy. See below response from sellers regarding who is to blame for this.

Due to Gunbroker implementing its Master FFL system, we have been forced to raise the price of shipping for all firearms sold. This has burdened sellers with unreasonable extra fees for each firearm sold. Unfortunately there is no way for us “Sellers” to opt out of this system, so until they remove or reduce these fee’s, they must be passed on to you, the customer. Master FFL fees from Gunbroker.com

How does this impact me as a Bidder/Buyer - I have to reduce all of my offers/bidding by $50 bucks!!! This means less sales on Gunbroker.com from reserves not being met and offers not being accepted. Might be time to look elsewhere. Thank you for considering my buyer feedback.

  USPS is part of the problem also. Anything over 30" has an extra fee because of length and prices have already risen on just general mailing. I did not know that the Master FFL system was a problem also. But since the “takeover” a lot of things have changed, a lot of things.

  With flat rate boxes, shipping should be right out front with smaller items, but some shippers charge “rate to be established” and ship flat rate, keeping the left over money from the $20.00 shipping charges quoted.  And, if they don't combine shipping, Eddie doesn't bid.  Another USPS tactic - If the regular size envelope is overly thick, it is gonna cost you big bucks to mail.  It is a cruel world out there.

  Bullseye, Eddie. If they don't state the shipping cost up front, no sale. I've sold a bunch of stuff online over the years, and I don't think I've ever ended up with a dime left over to keep after shipping, and I know I've had to eat a few dollars to get items on the way, if the shipping cost ended up being a minor amount over what I was expecting.
