OO is the field grade. Value is not as much as it is well used and a 12 gauge.

Grasshopper Thanks for the information.  I did take it to a gun shop and he said it is a 20 gauge so I am not sure.   When you say value is not as much, do you mean like $200 or $300?  I am still trying to find out what year is was made.   I have had one person tell me 1958 and another person said it is from 1913.

I had more info posted but GB said “pending approval” , 99 out of a hundred were 12 gauge so that is great as 20 gauges are more of value.I tried to look up DOB but would have to join LC Smith forums. Don't believe it is a 1958 model just by the looks. 300- 400 SINCE IT IS A 20 GAUGE easy to use if it in a 2.¾" chamber.

Very easy to tell the gauge.  If a 12 and 16 don't chamber and the 20 is a nice snug fit, it is a 20.  If a 28 and a .410 drop through, it ain't neither of them either!!!!
