Community forum - It's just not good
Dear Gunbroker, I've been a long time member of this community, going back to 2007. I've seen many changes and endured them all. I've worked with Montana Joe as a moderator here. What's with the decision to use this community format? It feels tacky, as a moderator to say this, but this is just plain awful. Is there any will from the staff/management/owners to revert or improve this in some way? This was once a thriving community. I recall a time when there were hundreds of posts made every day. It helped foster an interest in buying guns on the auction side. If there is anything I can do to help implement changes to something that will be conducive to discussions here, I am all for it.

Hello Mr. P. It's been quite a while. I was on the board almost every day for around 25 years. I navigated though a few upgrades and even though others bad mouthed the changes, I worked through them. The latest one was a big problem for me. Two reasons, it was a major change and I'm no longer, after 25 years, a young guy. Take care, chxjeff

I hate to see a good thing go by the wayside. Although I haven't posted a lot lately, I still like to check in here now and then. Sadly, there is a lot of firearms knowledge that is going to disappear if no one takes the time to preserve it. Where do the GunBroker owners expect new clients to come from if no one introduces them to the world of shooting?

Is anybody out there? This is terrible software. Surely you have backups and can reload to some other software. A lot of education in the forum as well as stirred a lot of interest in the gun business.

The more I think on it and consider it, the more I think I've been too generous with my assessment of it.

They are getting the desired effect that they want. Just like the hedge companies that bought big brand gun companies then ruined them knowing what they were doing then also.
Where is Winchester, Colt, ammunition loaders, powder companies. Made in USA used to mean everything, but no more.
Do you realize that some of these capital conglomerations purposely ruin brands for many reasons.
I still buy here at GB and been here since the beginning. But allot of forum members left long ago even before the change before this last change. When you have to critique every word before posting it then get berated for even reasonable comments, well no one wants to drop buy and now see what you have. Why get beat up by a bunch of old guys, truth is truth. Younger generations are not conservative speaking and their views are somewhat boisterous. Why they pull the pin so quick I do not know. But I have seen it here a very long time. And banishment is the result whether self banished or not.
Its not just here, and one forum had to go to the extent about having a post about the very topic, Not Allowed To Post Negative Topics About The Forum Going Downhill. Forum Dying Threads. We all know where that is, and they are No.1

elubsme, I'm an old guy and don't know what's going on. :) All I know is that I sure miss the old forum.

Mr. P (Randy) this is my only post since things went downhill. Probably my last. I miss all those who never made it over to TFF where i am now located. I would say i am a old timer and remember the old days long before the powers at be started to tinker with the Gunbroker Forum software. Again, I sincerely miss you all. ------------------------Ray

The powers that be don't care that this forum was responsible for innumerable sales and promotion of this site.
