25-35 brass
GOOD GRIEF! $199.00 for 50 new Winchester cases plus twenny bucks shipping & tax!!! Who can afford this stuff? Sure glad I stocked up when I first bought the rifle. It is a Texas Contender by the way with an old Weaver 4X dot scope. It is a joy to shoot with 29 grains of 3031 and a 90 grain Sierra hpbt.

Sounds like a nice rig. Is that brass something that can be made from 30-30 brass if need be?

I acquired a Savage 1899 short rifle in 25-35 a few years ago (haven't fired it yet) and collected a few online articles on the caliber. Only one referenced trying to re-form brass (from 30-30) and he reported that case failure was high with the dies he had, and subsequently gave up on case-forming.

Drifter, I bought new brass on G B years ago when it was reasonably priced so I am O.K. on that. I also got 160 .30 Remingtons for my model 14 when it was available. Hope you are doing well my friend. Eddie
