Seller lists guns he doesn't own---sells for friends
I've run into a seller who listed some guns that it turns out he does not own. He is not a dealer or a C&R holder. Did not disclose that the guns he had for sale were not his own property. It seems fishy to me. How would a buyer know they were getting a good title to the gun? Is this seller acting as a dealer without the required license? Does this practice go against any rules here on Gun Broker? I'd like to know what others think. Thank you.

You know for a fact that the seller isn't a dealer or C&R? Providing Gunbroker has granted us the ability to post auction links again, post a link to the auction, or name the seller.

IF you know this to be true, POST the listing that will lead to the person involved jfsag

This sounds like an informal consignment sale which should be OK. State and local laws must be followed. Which person do you make payment to?

Guy 1, hey buddy, aren't you a member of GB?
Guy 2, Yes I am.
Guy 1, Could you list a couple of guns for me?
Guy 2, Sure can.
How nefarious.

I’ve purchased two guns on here that came back listed as stolen. The State Police came out and took them from the dealer and I got refunds from the seller. I don’t want GB to be the place to offload stolen goods.

Doesn't do us much good without a link to the auction, or the seller's name.

I have listed and seen listed guns for other people. I sold a few for my father and a friend. I just posted the add and they answer the questions, do the shipping and handle the transaction. I just bought a gun that was listed by a friend of the owner of said gun, off of GB. I don't see what the problem is.
