5 Crescent sxs sidelocks
Recently I bought a nice Crescent Peerless on GB advertised as the nice back half of a 20 ga. Good deal, but my 20 ga. barrels are to wide at the standing breach, which is 17/8 in. with a 4 ½ in butt plate. What is this gun, a 28 ga., 410, 44 ? I need help. I have never seen a 28 ga. Crescent, mine is sn 6286 marked Lakeside with 45 degree angled wood at the lower frame fit. Did Crescent start sn"s over after the Knickerbocker? Bill (Old retired guy)

Oh Lord Brother, you bought 5 Cresent shotguns without the barrels and hope to fit them on your barrels? These things were made from the late 1800's to the 1930's, millions of them, with over 600 different names of hardware stores and companies as Cresent would let you have your own company name put on them. Even if you find one that fits, it's value would be around $150, for a wall hanger as the chambers are short and would have to be reamed out.
I have no other information as I did have a single barrel Cresent at one time with a short chamber and let it go, it was a nice wallhanger.
