You can't steal a pack of gum from a gas station, but delivery drivers can steal without anything happening
I find it just INSANE that I cannot get any police department to do a report on a stolen gun. It made it onto a delivery truck….was “out for delivery” and never seen again. The driver was fired….but that is not enough to me. I need to know that the driver was charged for theft of a firearm. I want to see some punishment for the theft, not just getting fired.
The police department in the area it was stolen says it is up to the ATF…..which is silly, because all the ATF seems to ever do is check on sellers. I have heard of them going after people that have done a BIG crime or a LOT of firearms being stolen. I have never heard of the ATF going after a single gun….and never have I ever heard of a delivery driver being charged for a single box going missing.
I feel like the system we have is not “for me”….but against me at every possible turn. Its ridiculous and makes you just want to go sit on a beach and stop trying at all…..or post nonsense on a forum somewhere.

The major pharmacy were my other half works, the employees cannot do anything to shop lifters even if seen in person doing it or on the camera's, They cannot even follow outside to get description of vehicles like they used to do for police, it is just crazy and the thiefs know that they can get away with it.

My whole thing about this is how, yet again, it seems if you are a hard working person that doesn't do anything to burden another person in ANY way there are all of these rules and nonsense that YOU have to deal with or bad things happen.
You can't drive 10 miles over the speed limit or you'll get a ticket…..but they don't say a word to the guy driving the 98 Impala who has never had a tag or insurance on his car.
This falls in that same notch as far as how our system works. Imagine stealing something and just being told to “go home.” I just cannot imagine if I did anything bad at all what it would take to get back to some kind of normal life. They'd instantly have me in jail….I'd have to pay a lawyer…..they'd extend the ordeal out so long that it will have ruined my entire life before it was over and I'd be paying the costs the rest of my life.
Its not a lot of money….the gun that didn't make it to the destination was $1005.50….so its not that this has affected me really. We have private insurance, but my deductible is $1000. We get signature conf. on our boxes, which gives us $500 of insurance….and they did pay us that. So, right now I'm out $500….but my shipping company representative has promised to make that up to me. (He is wonderful, by the way.)
My only problem is the other thing….how is this not going further? Why isn't the shipping company filing charges? Why wasn't I contacted by a law enforcement agency when they filed the charges against this theif? I shouldn't be the one to have to get that ball rolling…..but I will if I have to…..not that I've been able to move the needle at all with the dozen phone calls I've made so far.

JMHO
It seems to me
If money can be made by the arrest or drug bust with lots of cash, it's all hands on deck
but if a no win to get any money just a feed and storage bill and health care added to the state or city it's a fee pass no one wants to pay to house more criminals or druggies/ homeless
Its back to Just let society have to deal with them
I truly think going back to street justice like the old bronsen movies , would be a sure way to cut back on crime

Have to add remember when they started charging 25.0 to over night pistols because their people were stealing them
So in place of going afte the theifs lets charge the customers and put less time for employees to steal them all BS
