I could have kept working. It was a deal hard to pass 25 years of service and your age made how they came up with it . it was a hard decision I was 55 and 25.5 working their
So i took it that was13 years ago. No regret except should have saved more money over the the years
Don't miss my job or 95% of the people

My retirement 12 years ago was partly forced also . Reduction in work force they called it . Eliminating my job , offered me a transfer to a lower classed job ,but keep my salary . I knew the physical demand of the new job would be detrimental to my health. Took retirement instead.

I retired the first time April 1, 2009. Was retired exactly 2 years to the day and rehired by another Federal agency in 2011. Stayed with that job 12 years and ‘retired’(?) again. Was offered another part time job last month but just shrugged, thanked the guy, and walked away. I've got more than enough to do at home. Retired doesn't mean quit and sit.

Retired 2-½ years ago with over 41 years between the Navy and federal service. Miss the politics in the Shipyard like a chapped a$$. Had a medical breakdown (heart issues) right after that. Good luck to you Mr. Farmall!
