Proud to be a Texan
Proud to be a Texan
A recent study found the average Texan walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found Texans drink, on average, 22 gallons of beer per year.
That means, on average, a Texan gets about 41 miles to the gallon.
Kind Of Makes You Proud To Be A Texan.[:(!][V][xx(][:(]

Don't let the oil companies get wind of that -- they'll buy the state and stash it in a safe somewhere to keep the secret from getting out.
Only vaguely related to your post, but it still amuses me -- I had a boss, way back, who was of Mexican descent. Made a huge deal of Cinco De Mayo every year. I finally reminded him it had taken some 5000 Mexican soldiers to get slightly over 200 Texans out of a falling-down church in San Antonio, and it took them almost two weeks before it was all said and done -- nothing to be bragging about. He was not amused....
I know most of the guys in the Alamo were "instant Texans" -- from somewhere else only a short time before. "Texan" status was conferred pretty much posthumously. That's fine -- gives Texans and Americans in general, both, 200+ men to be damned proud of.0 -

This is the biggest gauntlet I've ever seen thrown down by a member with his first post!
I guess you don't like Texas? [;)]0 -
The negative rankings exist because of the illegals there. I personally don't care about them, as probably the native Texans also don't. I'm sure the hard-working people legally in Texas by birth or otherwise enjoy the same or better standard of living as anywhere else does. Statistics can show anything you want to make an argument about. I am from NY, the state with the most black people, but I went to a high school that had 1 black kid out of 1100 students. That should emphasize my point about the fallacy of statistics. 0 -
I lived in Texas, didn't like it so moved out. But I still wouldn't throw insults like that out. 0 -

Yea, It took 3 lucky bounces, a fumbled kickoff, 3 interceptions by a QB with a 28.9 passer rating just so Ny could win by a 2 points.....NY got their butt kicked. But they won the ballgame so I guess I am just whining....0 -
