Does anyone know how I can get the phone number of a ffl? Or to find if one is real?

I am considering obtaining an FFL, I have all the paperwork and know everything I have to do to get it. What I want to know is, would it be worth all the trouble to go through with it. I have a insurmountable love for guns and everything about them. I would love to translate that love into a business and profit from it.
I would love some feedback from some people who have obtained one and are currently operating small time businesses with them.
Thank you very much.0 -

So I bought a gun and contacted an FFL on another website I frequent to do the transfer. UPS attempts delivery the first time, nobody there. I call him he was out of town. 2nd attempt, says he was there all day, 3rd attempt, nobody there. Call him, he says its his 2nd job and he's only there during lunch. Well WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT TO START WITH? 0 -
I would like to obtain a FFL. I've seen these adds that for $34.95 they tell you everything you need to know. (do they work, and are they worth the money?) Can someone please point me in the correct direction and I'll handle it from there. Please point out any major stumbling block most commonly encountered.
Thanking you in advance. There has to be an expert on this one, even though I listed it as general discussion.0 -
Ive been reading some of the postings here about FFLs,being a owner of a gunshop you have to sell and meet certian Fedral, state and county city laws.
Are you required to sell a certian amount of firearms to statify the BATFE?
I used to work with a guy and he obtained his FFL and operated his business out of his house after work hours.
What if you specialize in doing just one thing like transfers?
Thanks0 -
To those of you that have an FFL. How difficult/expensive is it to obtain? I guess the reason I'm asking is I got to thinking and once I get my credit card paid off, I'd really like to start adding to my collection. Is it worth the hassle and saved money of not having to pay a transfer cost and having to go pick up the weapon if you purchase a lot of firearms?
thanks0 -
My dad has His FFL. If he wanted to send me a gun, would it have to go to another ffl in order for me to get it? I dont think he should have to. I live in Illinois and he lives in Minnisota. Just wondering. Him having his ffl may complicate things.
Thanks

Going to apply early next year.
I have a three local FFL holders that is helping answer any questions that I had yet about the process. One just had an ATF inspection and passed with flying colors.
Biggest advice has been. Get the ATF FFL application kit. Told me to leave those "FFL Kits" where you find them. For most of them give outdated information and the people selling them are just out for the money.
Read over the application completely a few times before even thinking about filling it out. To know and understand what they are asking.
Fill it out carefully. Suggested writing the answers down to each question (even your name and address) before putting it on the ap. Then you can go back and word it the way that you want it to be presented.
Dont falsify nothing.
Follow every instruction that is given carefully and to the T.
Keep all of your paper work neat and tidy.
Learn as much as possible about Federal, State and Local gun laws.
Do your local homework first. What is the use to apply for an FFL when your local zoning board does not approve of the location in which you have chosen to be business? Or your state or city will not or does not grant you a business licenses dealing in the firearms trade?
I have been working toward applying for an FFL for about six months now and I have not even requested an FFL Application kit from the BATF yet. For I want my ducks all in a row when I do apply.
I know that it is not the answer that you were looking for. But it is the advice I have been given a lot.0 -
