walmart gripe..
went to a super walmart today anyways the way i come into parking lot i have to drive by both front doors what i don't like is that people have such a bad habit of walking out or into the store without looking to see if anybody is coming in a vehicle....[they may have to rightaway but still should look and see if a vehicle is coming just not step out in front and get bounced off a bumper]........just after i stopped and started to take off again several people just walked out without looking because they are in such a habit that everybody stops and waits forever at a walmart,...from young kids to pretty old adults....don't know of any other stores where this is a problem.....maybe i just don't get out enough.

I put a set of air horns on my Dodge 3500 for another reason but would imagine they would be useful in front of Walmart too. 0 -

The thing I hate ia they are coming from everywhere sometimes. Often kids running out from behind cars or worse yet vans... Most of the time I just go park deep and avoid the stress~~~ 0 -
ahhhh haaa, i need to take the train horns off of my pete and blow them whenever i drive in front of walmart [:D][:D] i by mistake hit the switch for them the other day at the dumping pit at the grain terminal and the guy who stands at and runs the pit....i am sure had to go home and change his underwear...[:D] 0 -

In most cases I will pay a bit more for items just to avoid Walmart. Occasionally I give in to the temptation of conveince and slightly lower prices, but for the most part I steer clear of WW.0 -

I was driving across country a few years back, and found
WalMart the most reliable place for an oil change.
You could see the guys working, no tricks, no pushing a zillion services you don't want.
In my area of PA, I don't have any use for Walmart, but I've been in parts of the country where they have supplied a need.
Still, it is a shame, the way a SuperSpore will ravage small town Main street businesses for miles around.0 -

don't think it really matters where you buy stuff its all made in china......think its this country plan have everything made in china and such so we'll all have time enough to have three part time walmart or k mart type jobs 0 -
They put a Dollar General store in the little town near me. It's the same chinese crap, but you can get most of the stuff you get at wallyworld (paper products, toothpaste, etc) sometimes cheaper.

I agree that there seems to be some "zombie zone" that shoppers get into when they get near "their store". I am not certain that it is any worse at Walmart or Target or Nordstrom's or JC Penney. I believe it is our sense of "entitlement". It seems that a lot of people feel that they are entitled to walk in front of your car and you must stop for them. They do not have to wait for anyone, and certainly not that person in that car.
Second theme I see in this thread is the sense that Walmart only sells junk from China. Well someone is buying it by the ton. If you want something made in America or any other country then look for it and buy it. Ask for it if you can't find it. There is a reason that Walmart, Target and others are full of Chinese stuff. We demand it. When is the last time you accepted paying more for something. Not many people will pay more. America will chase cheaper prices around the globe in order to "pay less".
Third comment. I work at one of those companies that sells "junk" to Walmart and Target and JC Penney .... etc. We do not make or sell "junk" to any of our retail customers. We make exactly what they ask us to make as dictated by their consumer customners. I work with 200 people that take pride in their product.
Now some of us might walk right out in front of your car on our way into Walmart......sorry.

Yeah, but around here, the stopping and waiting isn't at the front door. It's at the register, in the store aisles, and in the parking lot.
Almost all the high-toned, blue haired, superannuated 'ladies' (and their husbands) long ago decided that poor riding is better than good walking.
So if it occurs to one of them who happens to be in front of you in the parking lane, that the parking space closest to the store may become empty between now and supper, they'll camp right there, forever! They never leave enough space for you to get by, and two other cars will pull in behind you, not allowing you to back up.
And quite naturally, blue hair calls to blue hair, and inevitably they'll meet up in the store aisles, park their buggies side by side, insuring no one but a mouse could get by them, and start a long converation about some other blue hair who stole some other blue hair's husband on a whim, just on a whim! after all the guy's nearly 80 years old! ain't got bit of money either, just plain old social security.
Compound that with 32 empty registers, 4 of which are open, three of which are (supposedly) limited to 20 items or less, and all of them with lines 25 feet long, and you get to wait some more. I've learned all there is to possibly know about Rachael Ray, Princess Diana, and Martha, from just waiting in the cash register line.
When it's all said and done, we sure owe a lot to Wal-Mart!

Either stop going to the front door (or wally world altogether) or just accept the fact that the law states the pedestrian always has the right of way, especially in a crosswalk. 0 -
I've noticed what you describe myself. But I've also never seen a W-M w/only one entrance.
I have 2 solutions.
1st: I always let the wife drive when we are shopping. So she gets to deal w/it. I'm a truck driver and I get plenty of driving in elsewhere.
2nd. When I go to W-M by myself, I aviod driving by the front doors like the plague. I don't mind a longer walk.0
