Anybody see the show on Explorer about the Aryan Brotherhood? Man those guy's are ruthless. I can't imagine living that kind of lifestyle. Very informative program on an awesome channel.

i was in marion with john g. a few cells down from me. in c cellblock. we gambled everyday on any sports for postage stamps. he was no richer than i cause you can only draw 55 dollars a week for commissary. i liked him but thought he was a bit arrogant and bitter. he use to show me all his mail that he got from all over the world. one lady was sending him 25 dollars a month, john chuckled at that. i told john that last night, (this was in 1996),that you were voted the third most glamorous person in the world, john's reply,"well who were the other 2 cock suckers ahead of me"that was classic john.oh it was oprah and michael jordan at that time by the way.he left abruptly the next day to go to springfield medical prison facility to have his teeth implants pulled out due to infection of the jaw. i saw him one time after his return and when i got out i later read that he died of throat cancer. thought i share a few stories. im not the same man i was. i work and own a house been clean and off of supervised release since 2003. i think i made it. 0 -

Many years working Death Row and associated Administrative Segregation units. A long time ago, seems like a lifetime ago.
There is only one true solution to this issue. Segregate prisons by race. It's the one common denominator amongst all this strife, violence and pain, sometimes inflicted erroneously or based on false assumptions.
When the segregated populations begin to degenerate and turn on one another, as they undoubtedly would, the true folly of racial labeling will appear.
IF, and it's a huge IF, the homogeneous prison population lives their incarcerated lives in relative harmony, then it's a somewhat peaceful place and everyone wins.
i.e. black folks would undoubtedly be a free-for-all. One needs to look only to Africa to demonstrate this irrefutable fact. A mess.
Hispanics would split into two groups, the illegals and the "Latinos" who were partially Americanized. Mexican-Americans, in my experience, have been mostly respectful, clean, and well-groomed, who live their prison lives with a code of Honor, mutual respect, and a "You mind Yours and I'll mind Mine" outlook.
Illegal Hispanics are mostly peasant rabble, with rotten food in their cells, who don't bathe and regularly wear clothes with urine and semen stains on them daily or to Visitation or Court. (really)
White folks would exile those dipsticks in the populations whose behavior threatened the schemes that they run to make their prison life bearable. No one wants to get so depressed that they off themselves in prison. Indians do that.0 -

Ok, I watched it last night. It was a good show, but I must say that any time they showed all the prison violence, it seriously made me wonder why they didn't just line up all the trouble makers and shoot them. I guess some can be rehabed, but it sure seems like a very small percentage.
The other thing shocking to me was the ability for these violent offenders to be paroled. Crazy.
Everyone should see this video, because at some point you may be on a jury deciding a verdict, and one of the highest level ring leaders was not given a death sentence because of an indecisive jury.0 -
