Honda Accord

I bought a Honda Accord yesterday,03 model.Traded in a Subaru Outback with 194000 on her.Had lots of trouble with the Sub so am trying a Honda.We have 2 Chevrolets and a Buick and i started to buy a new Malibu that handeled great.I travel 110 miles round trip to work and thought the Honda would be better on gas and would last a little longer.Thought about a hybrid but they are,nt for me yet.Who else here has had an Accord and how do they hold up?

    well I sold the 07 mustang and now Im looking for a Honda Accord for my 16 year old daughter but damn I cant find anything under 140000 miles for less then 6500 to 7000 unless you count the rebuilt titles which Im staying away from [B)]

    was wanting one with about 80000 to 125000 miles on it.

    Hard to find one without 150-200K+ miles on them.

    A few friends and family members have them. None have less than 150k miles.

    Brakes, oil changes, and general maintenance is all you need to do to get 300k miles out of them.

    like any car they will keep ah-trucking so to speak. but like any vehicle take care of it and change the fluids periodically and a Honda will last more than an American car. they build there cars to strict standards and don't take shortcuts

    We have a civic 06 model. So far so good. I grew up around Honda. Honda built the area up, supports local suppliers, supports local government, supports local schools big time, and is a great employer. People will say they are not American blah blah blah. Yeah maybe the money will go to Toyko, but at least Japaneses CEOs aren't paid millions. I also don't see GM, Chrysler, Ford giving away 10 million dollars to local schools, more then once.

    Honda makes a great vehicle. Wife had a 98 CR-V that was by far the best car we have owned. Put 125,000 miles on it before I screwed the pooch and traded it off. Of course, with two kids, it had gotten a little small for us! Sold it to a kid up in IL that wanted it to commute to college. He still has it. Saw him the other day and it has 200k on it and still looks good and he says it runs great.

    A friend has an old (88) CRX she drives to and from work. Odometer quite 6yrs ago @ 285k miles. Estimated it has 320-330k now. Looks like crap, but still runs great.

    Great cars, I work on them everyday. Only have someone work on it that knows the car, or you will spend a lot of money that you don't need to spend. Keep up the maintenance, and it will last a very long time.

    My Dad just sold his. . .I think it was a '97 with 100k miles on it.

    Other than normal maintenance, he had not a single problem or issue with it since he bought it, and he claimed it worked as well the day he sold it as the day he bought it.

    My lady friend drives an 2005 Accord. She loves it and has had no problems.

    I like the interior styling of your 7th generation better than the '08 model.

    I'm looking at that model, and also the TSX [which is almost the same car].

    While the Accord comes in seven or eight interior layouts, I understand the TSX to be made only as a loaded Accord, with the only options available being automatic transmission or navigation.

    I drove 36K miles this year, and expect to drive the same next year; I'm looking for any excuse to buy a newer car, and better fuel economy and comfort rank right behind engine failure or getting T-boned.

    My wife drove a 91 accord with over 250k miles on it. Ours had a few problems, but what can you expect with that many miles on them.

    i own 2 accords ones an 87 with ove 300 thousand miiles still runs great the other is a 95 with over 200 thousand both gets around 25 -28 mpg on the open road would not changed them for any other small car

    Wife has a Honda Accord. Great car.

    I have a Subaru Forester I use as my go to work car. Bought it when working out of Boston MA a few years ago. Love it.

    I've had a 92, 94 and 98 Accord. As long as you maintain them per their recommendations (especially on the timing belt replacement) keep the oil and filters changed and valves adjusted, you can drive one 250-300k miles with no problem.

    After the 98, I graduated momma to the BIG BOY Honda Accord, commonly called the Acura TL.

    The engineering and performance are nothing short of amazing. They get great mileage, have punch left at 60 mph and don't ride too bad for a small car. If you have the choice, don't buy the V6, not necessary. don't get me wrong, it's great power, you just don't need that and it reduces your mileage pretty significantly.

    that's my 2 cents worth.
