People that sell used stuff (sometimes new) cheap, REALLY good deals on there
from cars, clothes, electronics, motorcycles, pets, advertisements, personals, uhh lots of stuff.0 -
It is Ebay but much better and free.
Just type in craigslist and browse around.
I know that the good deals are gone in less than 1/2 day after posting.0 -
I use it all the time to get rid of junk I have sitting around, you would be surprised what people will buy! 0 -

Just was up in KC..sister was looking for a car for niece. Cheap.
Had been looking for a month or so...said that there seemed to be few cars in the paper at all.
Asked her if she had looked on Craigs List...got this funny look on her face...
we got on there and found dozens of vehicles...within 4 hours we had one located and bought.
Funny thing is...both she and her husband are computer geeks..took [:D] an old hills kid to save the day...0 -
Just want to say that like with most good things, there are people who seek to take advantage of it in a bad way.
Craigslist is notorious for a car scam in which a really nice car (Honda Accords are a favorite) is being offered for sale because "My husband is in the Air Force and we were assigned to England a few months ago and we found out that trying to drive a car with American specs (the steering wheel on the left side) over in England was a really bad idea...so we're going to sell it and use the money to buy another car that's English specs with rightside steering. We're in a hurry to purchase a car we found over here in England at a great price so we're willing to sell our car to you cheap." Their car is priced about 20% - 50% below book value but is usually in the 2-3 year old age group so the price -although low book- if not even lower is PLAUSIBLE. Just enough that it's not OBVIOUS it's a scam.
Oh and the shipping? Well...the U.S. military WILL ship a servicemember's car to and from Europe. So they tell you that they're going to ship their car BACK TO THE STATES at no cost to you. Great deal, huh?
The scam progresses asking for a small deposit to be made via a secure payment website or -a favorite- SQUARE TRADE an eBay affiliate. (Originally the entire purchase price was desired but scares a lot of people off or the prospective buyer can't get his bank to loan him the money on this kind of deal so instead of getting $5000 to $10,000 the scammers will settle for 'only' a thousand bucks or so) The ploy is that "The car will be shipped to you for inspection. If the car isn't everything I promised, you simply refuse to take possession of the car and all of your money is refunded by SQUARE TRADE. Otherwise, within 72 hours of taking possession of the car, please pay me the balance. I'm going to trust you to do that, okay?"
The photos and VIN of the car are usually pulled off legitimate listings on eBay so if the prospective buyer (read: 'the mark') runs the VIN with one of the online services, it comes back as a real car, no damage, no repairs, etc. By now the buyer is excited!
The prospective buyer will receive an email that appears to be from SQUARE TRADE, PAYPAL or some other internet payment service. Needless to say, it's a bogus, spoof, phishing email and once the buyer enters his credit card or debit card information...
