    1299 in Arabic is about 1964, still deep in the middle ages for them.

    Hedog, I thought you added 633(or there abouts) to the arab date to approximate the Julian date. I have read that there is no real way to come up with our calendar. I get about 1932 for the mint date.

    I did know it was not Ethiopian since I was stationed there for 3 years. Great assignmnet. Tom

    rcrxs old lady you have mail.

    I found a old wool sock just crammed full of these and other old coins and I really didn't think they would be worth anything. I kid you not there must be over 2000 of them there! In fact, I almost threw them in the scrap copper bin!

    Well we'll see what one's worth on the 'bay.
