    Good movie.

I don't know how long it would hold up in real world.

When you see someone who needs something that you can help with, do it. When offered payment, I always say "If you see someone that you can help, and do it without any expectations, you will have payed me." Very rewarding.

Never saw that movie, but the concept of passing on a kindness as a way of repaying an obligation is one I ran into at a tender age, and have kept up all my life. Even someone bumming a cigartte would be told, naw, don't give me a dime or quarter, just pass on the kindness one day when you can. I am still repaying an uncle who showed up one night when I was in a scrape to see what he could do to help. He died before I knew about it or could repay it, so for years I have been saying, "This one is for you Charlie."

some believe some dont.. but in the wisdom of my years i have learned a lesson that has stayed with me from my childhood . it is in the bible, and works as karma also....when you give cheerfully to help another it will come back to you 7 fold, and you will not want in your day of need.[;)][8D]

Have seen the movie, really enjoyed the message.
Most of the people I run around with try their best to live that way, not much as a thought process, just what you do.
The Law of Compensation (Ralph Waldo Emmerson), karma, what goes around comes around, anyway you wan't to put it, it works.
    Merry Christmas

Giveaways on this forum, kind of have that effect.
Sometimes they inspire others to have their own giveaway.
Often times, the recipient of a gift has a giveaway.

Essentially producing a "Pay it Forward" mentality.

    P.S.
Good movie, except the kid dies, trying to help someone.
Don't know what kind of message that sends.

Great movie! Even better if it touched you enough to attempt to live that way.

quote:Gun guys (and gals) are the best!

    This is so very true.

I'm still trying to get my thoughts together on all of this...I plan to post something when I can figure out how to act, or what to say...[^]

You all are good people and I am honored to be able to call you friends.

The movie was OK, but I liked Twister better because Helen Hunt wore that wife beater throughout!

It is one of my favorite movies I have tried to live my life using that concept to atone for the wrongs that I did as a kid, I was a destructive and angry lad, God only knows how I didn"t end up in jail. when I straightend up my life I paid the people I wronged for money I cost them. most of them were shocked when I went and told them what I did and repaid the money, there faces told me what I was doing was proper, I didn't think that I could ever repay the pain my deeds caused, then I saw the movie and I knew that there was a message in it for me. It's not just deeds its a way of life that probably every religion is based on. I think that if you can get in the habit of doing this your life will be better, mine is.
