Well, he might have a cameraman... unlike that other fellow Les Stroud...
But at least Bear Grylls doesn't limit himself to "safe" environments... they pulled Les in from the inflatable liferaft while doing a series of surviving at sea.. WTH ?!?
They continued the show on the boat, even pulled him around to drop him off someplace new when the storm had passed.
Les is boring - at least Bear Grylls is interesting.
Who is best.. I don't know... but Bear is the most fun to watch.
AND he actually shows the dangers of going through ice, cold water, being in a storm - he jumps into the freezing water and does what he does best IN the environment - as well as he eats stuff like weird fruits that tastes like (beeeeep), dead animals, weird stuff like larvae and other critters...0 -

Yeah, Bear films all that stuff then heads for the hotel to get a good nights sleep before going back out with his support team the next morning to shoot some more. At least Les is totally isolated and by himself. If you are by yourself in a REAL survival situation, you have to be more careful. No jumping off cliffs into unknown waters, etc. You find a safer way down or around if possible. But then, Bear does have his "team" with him to help if he gets in trouble. 0 -
