My Liberal friend saw Sicko yesterday and that's all he can talk about - how bad our system is and how good Cuba's system is.

He says when I am old I will be penniless because the insurance company will refuse to pay for my heart attack and all my money will go to pay medical bills.

He so bad wants Global health care in the US. He doesn't think that our taxes will go up much at all, if any, since the $400 we pay a month to the "blood-sucker" health insurance companies would just go to the government for health care instead. The rest would be picked up by corporations.

Are all Liberals this stoopid or is he an anomoly? It's almost like his brain is missing some critical element like the reasoning/common sense part.

    From my experience with them they are all that stupid! I Know a guy that thinks Mike Moore is the greatest man alive. Complete moron.

    Why have the people of oppresive socialized governments continually elected to change - some abrutly - to a system with less dominence via official oversight?
    Look at the Eastern Block.
    Just let China get a little bit more affluent & educated and see what happens. I see a breakup along economicly centered areas in a few years.
    It will happen because the providers of wealth to the country will reach the conclusion that their contributions are disproportionate to their reciepts.

    I saw Sicko- and your friend is a moron.
    He starts specifically looking at the worst case scenario in the US, and then looks at the best case scenario in other countries.
    Its hard not to see that its baised propaganda.
    He misses several key aspects of the current dilema, and presents the false premise that the only other option is national health care.
    Meanwhile politicians speak of universal health care- but only propose free health insurance to the poor- leaving the middle class with more taxes and the same system.

    Not to PO anyone or anything (say it's not so!), but if you want an eye-opener; check out the health care package our "elected representatives" have!
    They pay a $25 co-pay for ANY MEDICAL EVENT. Prescriptions are $5 for anything prescribed. Rooms at the Mayo are held for them. Free.
    No wonder they think health care should be "universal"!

    Oh yeah, MM is a fat, underachieving, Socialist-loving, drooling pile of lies in a ball cap. No matter what happens to him, it's been said that one cannot polish a t u r d .

    I can honestly say I don't know even one person that thinks universal healthcare is even a decent idea. Then agian I don't know any liberals either. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a social butterfly, but most of my conversations with any of my coworkers consist of what their concealed carry is and them pulling out pictures of the deer they nailed on their last hunt.

    In our country, a universal system would be a disaster. I lived in Austria for a year and it basically works there. Why? They nearly are all middle class- there are no poor 'leaches' to ruin it for everyone else. They have a small population- smaller than most US states. There was no 'depression' or war era deal where in lieu of wage increases (locked due to price controls- that's how the US employer paid system started) comapnies offered health insurance. There are fewer frivolous lawsuits. Etc. So for a small country with a basically homogenous population, it works- not great, but acceptably.

    What we need to learn is that in a country our size with such disparate incomes, it would be a disaster. Especially if the government runs it!

    Better to let people have the money back that their employer keeps and let them open a health savings account, or join a ppo of their choice as meets their needs.

    The hell with healthcare systems. It is a system to enrich a few at the expense of the many. Like communism without the secret police. Healthcare is a modern creation that has created a problem and then provided the solution. It has artificially increased the cost of medical treatment. America got along fine for the first 180 years with out a healthcare system.

    When it comes to government power, liberals really and truly believe that government can legislate and make something come from nothing.

    Make water run up hill, make cars run on air, provide income for everybody whether they work or not, make our enemies stop hating us, force criminals to finally start obeying the laws if they just pass enough of those laws or pass the right and perfect law, prevent criminals from obtaining guns if they take away my guns, etc.
