Fuel injector cleaner

The thread about Power steering fluid reminded me of another question I've always wanted to ask.

Those little bottles of carb/fuel injector cleaner smell just like diesel fuel. Is that whats in it?

    best fuel injector cleaner iv'e found is marvel mystery oil. its a marvel[:D], pour some into gas tank and feel the difference[;)]

    Best I have found is Seafoam. You will see a difference after the first can.

    I've tried Seafoam through vacuum lines, but never straight into the fuel.

    Lucas Fuel Treatment also works wonders. In fact, it works so well that its almost too good to be true!

    Depending upon the size of your fuel tank, 8 - 16 ounces of pure 100% acetone will work much better, and it is a lot cheaper.

    I use lucas fuel injector cleaner on my bronco.

    It has made a big difference in the fuel milage and the preformance.

    Both Marvel and Lucas are Upper cylinder Lubes and work wonders on Higher mileage cars Ya'll should try ashless 2 cycle it works well at loosening the carbon also.

    Heck, just try them all. I personally like the 100% acetone

    I use the Techron fuel injector cleaner at every oil change. I do a full mobil one oil change every 5000 miles, and have 170,000 miles on the vehicle without any injector problems (using the cheap gas and regular maintanence fuel filter changes).

    I like Berrymans. Their carb cleaner and injection cleaner are the best I've tried.

    Now there is a name I havn't heard in 20+ years ... didn't know they were still in business. Our shop promoted all their products years ago, then we lost our rep.

    Seafoam works great for everything on an automobile!
    Berryman's is also a good choice.
    But word to the wise, don't use carb and injector cleaners very often( like every tank or so) because the additives used to clean and remove deposits are very harsh and actually start to dissolve the glue on the parts in the injectors causing failures and leaks and usually lots of money spent. I recommend no more than once every oilchange. Fuel treatments on the other hand are Great! It is perfectly safe to use them every fill-up and the help prevent severe deposits. Hope I helped a little
