pump rifles

anybody else here like pump rifles my first shotgun was 870 and my first centerfire rifle was a savage 170 now i have 5 760 and now i'm looking at rem 141 it seems i have soft spot for pump actions

    My first deer rifle was a 14 in 30 Rem. It was not enough gun and was way happier with the 721 in 270W. I don't like loading for pump rifles and find brass life is less (small base dies and flater nose bullets). Never tested that groved tube mag with pointy bullets. Also I have found as rule 2 piece stock rifles don't shoot as good as the one piece ones do. I do hovever really like my combat 870. I got 3 years ago the 121 that as a kid I could light kitchen matches at 25 feet. It took a lot of work to get it to function with the new 22 crap ammo. The rem ammo from 1969 sings right threw it, CCI minimags are almost as good.

    A friend of mine a has a 141 in .35 Rem. It's not a tack driver by any stretch of the imagination but that thing is absolute death in the big woods. Strange looking guns but very functional.

    i own 3 22 pump rifles and 5or 6 pump shotguns. and a couple semi auto long guns.

    I think i've shot that 870 so much that the pump rifles just feel right I only use them if i know yardage is going to be less than 200 yds I have bolt rifles that are better suited for longer shots

    I don't own any myself. The girlfriend grew up shooting her Remington 870 20 gauge and to keep things simple(since she don't shoot a whole lot anymore) she hunts with a Remington 7600 in .243. I have tried to get her to use a bolt action, but she won't have any part of it.[:D] Whatever works better for her I guess.

    I've got, and love, my CHEEEEEEEP 870 express, but this thread isn't about shotguns.

    Pump rifles seemed really cheesy to me, until my friend started showing me his collection of Winchester pump .22s. I GOTTA get me one of those! They are just cool. There is no other way to say it.

    Sadly, the only pump gun I currently own is still that 870. Just give it time...

    Only own 1 pump rifle. Rossi pump .22 long rifle.
