ok guys here is the problem i have a 2000 dodge carvan,my blower motor for my heater only works on high it won't work on any settings lower whats up any help out there.[?][?][?][?]

    I need to get to class, and my truck's battery is dead. It is a stick shift, if I get it moving and then dump the clutch, is it feasible that the engine might start despite the nearly drained battery?
    FYI I don't know why the batter is drained, no electronics were on, and it only sat since friday!

    Here's a sure fire fix...

    If it gets hot with the blower shoving out hot air, roll your windows down just a bit. There! Cheap fix to your problem!![:D]

    Honestly, I don't have a clue outside the switch. Good luck!

    you blower motor probably has two sets of ststor windings one set for the lower speeds the other for the higher speeds, seems fairly obvious that one set of winds have failed.

    You DO have 2 sets of windings.1 winding is for lo/med.When U put it on HI,BOTH windings kik-in.What you've got ,is a failure, in the Lo/Med winding.(motor's shot)Sorry..

    The first problem is it is a Dodge.
    Fix:

    Sell Dodge= problem solved.

    If it is the standard climate control, and not the automatic, then it is the blower resistor. It is located either in the blower housing, or on some Dodges it is above the glovebox in the firewall, into the fresh air duct. Something usually causes them to go out, and that something is a blower motor that has something in it, like leaves or trash, or just a bad blower motor.

    Better yet , see if you can collect some of the hot air off some of the threads on here. [:o)][:o)]

    Just the resistor in the air duct.
    Simple fix.
    Trace the wires from the motor and you will find it. Easy to change.

    sometimes just cleaning up the mounting on resistor as it loses ground

    That's where I'd start.

    Just went through this on a Motor Home. It was in about the worst possible place they could get it, service wise that it. Appears that was the first part they started with and built the whole thing around that resistor pack.

    I have a 96 Grand caravan that had the same problem. There is a relay for the blower set behind the under the dash relay box. You have to loosen and move the relay box to get to it. If you change that relay it will probably solve your problem. Check the wire from the relay to the motor as it was fried in my van. The caravan seem weak electrically and also transmission wise. By the way the local Dodge dealer quoted me $1000.00 to fix it. After that I do not use the dealer for repairs. Regards.

    Blower resistor. costs about $20 In the blower motor housing.
