85 Mazda X/mission help

I have a friend in need of a tranny for 85 Mazda B2000 5 speed. Is this tranny only for an 85 or can several years fit it? Any/all help appreciated.

Or can anyone point me where I can find said info. Thanks much, Tom

    edit: looks like it only goes to 84 sorry again, must be some changes in 85..

    not positive but I think rangers all used mazada transmissions in the 80's
    Ford Rangers used Mazada M50D-R1 might cross over

    LOCO, yep my luck also. I am always a year early or late when I need a used part. I don't even know if he has a tranny. forgot to ask him.

    Savage, when you say Rangers, are you talking about Ford Rangers? This might be a whole new ballgame!! Thanks, Tom

    Not real certain on what year that they started using it Ithink Ford used toyo early eighties and switched mid eighties
