I have power again......for now
Oh what a long night! And probably a few long days to come as well since more freezing stuff is expected over the next few days. Freezing drizzle all evening and absolute downpour of freezing rain from 2am to 7 this morning, and it's still freezing raining too![xx(]. Will it ever stop?! I've never heard so much thunder this time of year. Limbs are down all over the place, and still falling. At least a half inch of ice and still growing. The power went off about 6:30 this morning and was off for a hour and a half, and I'm expecting to go off again at any time. I got a wood stove, a generator, water, food, and blankets ready to go. Just hope I don't need it!

We are under a Winter Storm Watch here in Michigan.. They say from 1/4 - 1 inch of ICE... 0 -
I'm in cental MO, and still raining. Probably won't quit for another hour or 2. Been under a ice storm warning since yesterday afternoon and it doesn't end until 6 pm. Limbs are falling down hitting the house. No major damage that I know of. I can't get a good look b/c it's not safe to go under the trees. Go outside and you hear is the crack of limbs breaking and ice shattering when it hits the ground. Oh how I wish the sun would come out! Stay safe, or at least as safe as you can! 0 -
Same here in S/E Mo., but not quite so heavy...for now. We got hit last year and was w/o power for two days. The power lines here run through so much forested area, that it sometimes takes out miles of line, and is hard to find. Several yeas back, i forget what year, but we were iced in for like 30 days straight.[:(] I believe that was the year i bought a generator.[:)] 0 -
The last storm we had like that here, I was without power for 5 days. Make the best of it. 0 -

would like to have some colder weather sometimes.

Here in SW MO we are still just getting rain. It looks like we will miss most of this one. There are still lots of signs of our ice storm earlier this year. I wish you luck in keeping your power through this storm.

Several year's ago I experienced a similar weather related scenario. Freezing rain, snow, no power for 2 week's. It was miserable. But I'm ready if it ever happen's again. Generator, gas heat, plenty of food and water. Look on the bright side, and enjoy your time off. It won't last forever. [;)] 0 -

+ 1 on the shotgun sound. I'll have to get a pic tomorrow and figure out how to post it. Power might stay on through the night if it doesn't get windy. The limbs were starting to sway a bit late this afternoon. 90% chance of freezing rain with possibly more significant icing the next two days. Good news is most of the big limbs close to the house fell this morning. It almost completly stripped a nice sweet gum tree[V]-pic tomorrow. Sorry but no pics, can't find the cord to download them to the computer. Storm is gone and everyone is still ok so that's all that matters. I got sicker than a dog Monday which made that much ice even more fun but it's all behind us now. I just hope everyone's elses family made it through safely and good luck with the clean up! [:D] 0 -

Front yard looked like a brush pile but the big stuff is cleaned up, just the small twigs that I'll go over with an old mower or rake them up later. Haven't touched the back yard but there isn't as much down there. Now I'm waiting on the snow! [xx(] Oh well, I'd much rather snow than ice, but I'm not fond of either.
