Really need some help finding a place to shoot.

Here's the deal, I have a couple rifles and a handgun I'd love to take out and go shooting semi-regularly but I can't seem to find anywhere to go. I live just outsided of Decatur, IL and the only ranges offered that are decently close are for shotguns only. I have some relatives with some land but they're jerks so that's out of the question. Just hoping someone from the area or familiar with it might have some advice or recommend a place to go, thanks.

    I did a search for ranges in Decatur and found a couple that offer handgun....how far are you willing to travel? what cities are near you that you are able to get to?...

    i had the same problem here in ND no ranges with in 80 miles so i offered to do some predator control for some ranchers in exchange for some shooting time on there land. workes out pretty good for me

    What site are you using to do the search? The only ranges I found are in Springfield, which is about 50 miles from me. Between working 30 to 40 hours a week and classes I don't have a whole lot fo free time. I might just have to say the hell with it and wait to get some trigger time until I hit the military.

    Sandy Ford Sportsman club is an hour and half away. Streator Illinois.

    Guys from Chicago belong to it and drive that long because Chicago sucks. I've met a handful of them. Good folk.

    All I did was type into google search;

    rifle ranges near decatur illinois...

    Found quite a few with that, then typed in pistol and rifle ranges in Illinois....

    mr.floppy has found a lot of the same ones that came up for me....I have found its all in the wording you put into the search engine...

    Check out your state's conservation web site. I live in MO and was looking at their web for other things and ended up finding out that they have a range in EVERY county. I haven't been to one yet but did see a pic of the one close by with a 100 yd rifle range and it looked nice, and as far as I know FREE.[:D][:D][:D]
