True, but let's not forget that he stuck his hand into moving machinery. A major NO-NO where I work, or anywhere else that operates dangerous equipment. We have Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures for this very reason.

It doesn't seem like it happens as often now, but farmers use to lose limbs and life all the time in the old days by sticking their arms into moving or clogged up machinery. Use to hear how they would get off the tractor to unclog the baler and bale themselves right up. Would be a tragic death.

Read a similar story a few years back of a logger that got his leg trapped between some logs and had to cut his leg off w/a pocket knife...no fire involved though..

Important safety tip, don't put your head into a washing machine during the spin cycle or attempt to remove a radiator while the engine is running.

I tried to jump a belt off an electric motor once. The pulley cut my index finger to the bone,so I used a popsicle stick and bandaids to put it back together.
