Health Care question,...Just Wondering.....
I am totally against National healthcare but it has me wondering something.
If it were put in place as Evillary has proposed......
Will she, Congress, all of Washinton "leaders" be on the same program? If not, why, is it not good enough for them?

It'll be like allowing citizens to have control over their own Social Security "accounts." Fed workers have our Thrift Savings Plan, which the latest proposed fix for SS was based on. It's good enough for us, but Congress won't let everyone have the same thing. 0 -
Not to mention there forcing it on us as well. i don't like being forced, i already don't like paying car insurance. I mean if it is forced if we go get a job there going to be like no insurance no job. 0 -
Socialism at it's finest. I've lived in London, broke a collarbone there. It was the pits! I would have rather flied home, in pain, and paid the $3k or so to get it fixed in the states...
Now what's going to happen when all of our questionably legal inhabitants flood our medical system (as if it isn't already). And here we much more hypochondriacs than the UK- look at all the fattys getting medical treatment 'stomach reductions' when they really need to just lay off the BigMacs and get a treadmill.0 -
Mandatory National Health care plans are unconstitutional,as is most of what the federal government does.
State-wide health care plans on the other hand.... theres nothing stopping those from going into effect.
Several US states have larger economies than European nations that have such health care plans.
I would like to see some states run a successful health care plan, before the federal govt attempts such a monstrosity0 -
I'm not in favor of the program, but it IS modeled after the Fed. plan.

Just to remind you. The British National Health Service started in 1948 to offer universal health care to everyone. Funded by a very small wages deduction. Like all Government bodies it immediately started to grow accompanied by a constant cry of "We need more money".
Fast forward to today. The NHS is the World's 2nd biggest employer with 1.33 million staff(the Chinese army is #1) and a 2007 budget of $210 Billion.
Don't forget the UK has a population of about 60 Million. So transpose those figures to America's population of 300 Million and your looking at a Government department with an annual budget of $1.05 Trillion and 66.5 million employees.
Now factor in Government waste and plain old incompetence and the cost will probably double.
