Can cars run on?

Corn liquor? Ive seen alot of TV where they did run their cars off of Moon Shine? If the Gov would make it for use if a car engine can run on it?

    You need higher compression to make use of alcohol. Ethanol is E-85....the Fed's made them add 15% gasoline to posion the alcohol to keep people from sticking the nozzle at the pump into their mouths.


    Your car, motorcycle, or ATV won't run on Alcohol unless you increase compression and adjust the jets if it has a carb.

    The older cars can't use pure alcohol, because it eats away at the rubber seals and the compression needs to be higher.
    The big problem is that if you could use pure alcohol, you would get approximately half the mileage per gallon. It uses almost twice as much to make the same power as gasoline.

    if ya can store a cylinder of liquid gas, in the car & pipe it, it would be easier to run ya motor on ,with the correct solenoid... ethonol is ok, for sprinting over a short distance..

    Uh...yeah. Ethanol is the pure stuff. E85 is ethanol cut with gas.

    I live in North Carolina. My mother lives in South Dakota. A few years ago she came to visit about this time of year. We were driving around and she commented on the many corn fields she saw, her corn prices had gone up dramatically when they put in an ethanol plant not far from her farm. She asked if we had ethanol plants around here. Told her that yes, we have them too but we call then liquor stills.[:D][:D][:D]

    We drink the best and burn the rest.

    Alcohol is for drinking
    Gasoline is to wash parts
    Diesel fuel is for pulling
    Nitro is for racing.

    For many years the world land speed records at Bonniville Salt Flats were set with ethanol burning engines. You can run higher compression with ethanol (140 octane equivalent) but it is not required. When cold it does not evaporate as well as gasolene and can be really hard to start. Yes it can be hard on some types of fake rubber and has no lubericating qualities for the top rings and valves. Don't the current Indy cars run methanol (one carbon instead of two)?
