I bought one today (9/4/07) but ive yet to go shooting. I took the front sight off my mini 14 ranch rifle and slipped the De Resonator on in its place, I also made a new gas bushing to block the gas system to deactiveate it.I think Ill try it out this weekend, I sure hope it works or I just wasted $20.00 on a piece of rubber.

I've got one on each of my Browning stalkers .270WSM & .300 WSM. They work. Don't expect miracles, though. It tames the barrel after the shot. I don't have either of mine that close to the muzzle. Both of mine are about 3" forward of the forend.

...No, but I have a Browning Medallion that has a ported B.O.S.S on it..Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System.
I understand the principle behind the system, and it makes perfect sense to me, and I cant argue with my results. Maybe this link will explain "why/how? it works.
    http://www.browning.com/faq/detail.asp?ID=107

The best thing about it to me is that if I want to go up or down in bullet weight, it takes two minutes to reset the B.O.S.S to the correct bullet weight; and I dont have to zero again, it's stilll dead on.

...I would think the thing your talking about is based on the same principle. With what your talking about not being an intrigal part of the rifle, I wouldn't like it, and not sure if it would work.

My B.O.S.S being ported, it does reduce felt recoil by a good 40%, which I like...of course it also increases the report by a LOT.

...I don't mind the noise while some people say it scares the deer, hell, the normal report is going to scare the deer for a country mile anyway; and it doesn't seem to bother the deer I just killed one bit.

...Federal Premium 150 grn. at 100 yds...5/8" 3 shot groups are the norm with the Browning, 3/8" if Im having an exceptional day, which is rare. The Medallion outshoots some very nice rifles Ive owned.
Even believing in the results of the B.O.S.S, I would not make it a requierment of buying another Browning..or any other gun; I killed plenty of deer before the B.O.S.S was even thought of...[^]

That is too funny. You must have read my mind. I've always used an old inner tube with a wrap of baling wire around it. Been shooting dime size patterns every since.[:D]

They work...they take some playing with to get them in the right place on your barrel, but they do work.

If it gets my group tighter its worth a shot and if it cost $170.00 less than installing a muzzlebreak than i guess I can live with having a goofy looking piece of rubber on my rilfe. Ill let you guys know if it works well so you can go out and get one for your gun.[:D]

I did see the MINI MAX article on brownell's web-bench it had some cool pics, but im not sure I want to dump that much money into a mini 14, I would much rather save up and buy a full size AR.

If things dont look up for my mini it will be propped up in a gun rack at my local gun shop. I would really hate to see this happen but you gotta do what you gotta do.[:(]

who makes your AR? ive been asking around to see who makes a decent rifle for a decent price. my father and I are thinking about halves on a bushmaster full size 5.56. its only $800.00

Try building one, Chuck. you can get a receiver from the Auction side here and put whatever parts on it you want. Should be able to get by under 800 bucks as well. If you're still USMC, maybe talk to your friendly armorer about helping you assemble it.

I would buy one if it was bigger and came in pink.

I would rather have my balls pounded flat with a wooden mallet than have one of those goofy things hanging on the end of my gun[xx(]
