I can appreciate the anger that generates for the way victims are treated and the way the criminals get celebrity treatment by racist black Americans, with the MSM to rub it in. Hopefully, this story will get distributed via e-mails and the like so that most Americans will be discussing it on a daily basis. These thugs should be in jail, not immortalized. 0 -

Hervey's crusade also has taken him to Jackson. In the Jackson City Council chambers June 13, Hervey showed up wearing his battle grays, wrapped in the flag. A scuffle erupted between a Jackson man, who said he supported Hervey, and a city councilman who exchanged words, according to published reports. Hervey was not involved in the shoving match.
Hervey sees a correlation between the past and today's controversies over the flag.
"We currently live under a psychological form of reconstruction," he said. "Whites are made to feel guilty for sins of their ancestors, and blacks are made to feel downtrodden. This keeps all of us from communicating. The political correctness of today is killing the pride of the people."
Hervey is the founder of the Black Confederate Soldier Foundation, an Oxford-based, not-for-profit organization. Its stated mission is to foster new thought on the Civil War. Claims that the Confederate flag is a racist symbol are, to the group, part of a nonissue. Black Confederates, the group says, have been misrepresented in historical texts.
Hervey wants to build a memorial that will include the names of the black Confederates who fought and died in the War Between the States.
As the Hervey brothers continued their march, shouts of support and anger could be heard from passing motorists. A group of young black men hanging from car windows shouted at the pair. Hervey instructed his brother to look forward "like a true soldier."
"Don't even look at them," Hervey said, citing the young men's behavior as an example of black psychology today.
"They will yell a lot and want you to confront them, but they will not do anything," Hervey said.
"I found it appalling what happened in South Carolina, and I'm afraid this is going to happen in Mississippi." Hervey said. "We seek only to correct the errors in history - to right the wrongs done to the memories of these brave soldiers.

Don't despair, fishkiller. Help educate people and talk about the injustice of it all - forward this story out to everyone in your address book for starters, and voice your opinions as to how to stop this type of injustice within the parameters of the law. A good point in doing this would be to preach equality and weaning black America from the federal teat. People do care, it is just that the majority work like dogs to make a living and have the little bit of news they do get censored - pass the word on stories like this every chance you get. Thank you very much sturmgewehr. This picture is worth a thousand words, and should be seen by all Americans, frequently. Today the Mormons and the National Archives personnel are joined together to digitize millions of records and get them to the public online, and war records are to be included. When this does happen, more people will see someone beside themselves and the results will be similar to the Hervey story here. Such knowledge will go a long way to ending the double standards that are forced upon us today by a far left government.

It's not about expectations 1911. It's about REALITY... When this all comes to a "head" the white men and women in this county, will be exterminated in minutes.
The majority of whites in my community are upper middle class, to filthy friggin rich, and about 1% own a firearm. Prob. 1% of those, even know where the bullets go.I'm afrade we, non (people of color)have only minutes to live, should this calamity come to shots-fired.[V]0 -

Well that may be the case in the inner-citys, but out here in the country they won't stand a chance. Then, we will just starve them all to death.

I am white and I disagree. I believe that a "certain race" is better organized, will make sure they are better equipped, will fight to the death to protect their loved ones and allies, will form alliances with elements of other races who think, act and have the same values as this "certain race", and this "certain race" will conserve their strength, equipment and lives by fighting, not among themselves, but only when they encounter their enemy.
And finally I believe this "certain race" will, as the war goes on and on, get better and better at what they have to do to triumph over the primitives.

sturmegeh: I have checked the Confederate service records online and have found one James Hervey who fought with the Mississippi confederates, but he appears to have survived the war. I have also checked the 1860 census records, and there was no record of a James Hervey living in Mississippi. Of course, Some men lived in one state and served with units of another, so this proves little if anything. However, if a man was a slave in 1860, his full name would not show in any census records, unless it was a very rare occurance, so the point here would be that a James Hervery could have been living in Mississippi at the beginning of the war, but not show up in any census record. Also, the fact that a James Hervey did serve the confederacyin a Mississippi unit makes it conceiveable that a slave did take his masters name and did die as stated in the story you posted.

Although the Confederate Congress did not authorize Colored Units in the Confederate Army until 1865, when it was too late, there were many unofficial soldiers overlooked by officers who were desperate to fill the ranks so quickly dwindling. Also, many individual Southern states authorized colored militia units. For example, Alabama in 1862.
Some would ask, "Why would they serve; why would they fight?" They served and fought for the same reasons as their white counterparts. They felt that the South was their home, too. Whether slave or free, each had a stake in the society and each had a home they felt endeared to. For example, many Charleston negroes actually cheered at the possibility that they would be able to shoot Yankees shortly after the outbreak of War. (1)
African-Confederates not only offered their services as soldiers but also as laborers. Many colored communities took up collections for the Confederate War Effort. Even individual negroes, both free and slave, contributed their money for the Confederate Government.
The African-Confederate went to War for the South as body servants, teamsters, laborers, and even soldiers. Many saw action. Some were wounded and some were killed in defense of the South. Most were loyal and cared for their master with whom they went to war. Many cases tell of a body servant removing a wounded soldier to the surgeon or taking the body of a fallen soldier home for proper burial.
Their efforts remain largely forgotten as it does not fit into the well defined roles of the different races. It also causes the mold of the North as liberator and the South as an enslaver to crack just a little.0 -

Unfortunately this is not news. The Jena 6 thugs are news again, but hopefully it will backfire on them. If you saw the article that quoted some posts from the BET blog you see that some of the misled who marched in Jena are beginning to see the light. I've been reading an excellent book on my hero, Theodore Roosevelt, entitled TR: The Last Romantic. I highly recommend it to any who enjoy history, especially history of one of our greatest presidents--if not THE greatest. Anyway, during his term as president, there was an "incident" in Brownsville, TX in which several black soldiers attacked several, and killed at least one, white civilians over some alleged "provocation." The "provocation" was verbal, if at all, but the soldiers came on fully armed and exacted their revenge. When the matter was investigated by the authorities, the "innocent" blacks refused to identify, let alone condemn the guilty ones. As a result, TR ordered that the whole lot of them be booted out of the military. In response, some liberal, bleeding-heart newspaper publishers AND some black publishers raised up a hue and cry against Roosevelt, calling him racist and worse.
The whole episode was enough to cause the wielder of the big stick to have second thoughts about his previously-sound denounciation of lynching. He simply could not sanction the idea of ANYONE endorsing, celebrating, or covering murder just because the perpertrators were of the same race. He considered such behavior as tantamount to anarchy...which he vehemently abhorred.
That episode occurred roughly one hundred years ago. Not much has changed--except our national leaders have not one-tenth the intestinal fortitude of Teddy Roosevelt. And that is very pitiful. [V]0 -
