    Don't look left[;)]

Go see a chiropractor so he can put you back in shape, I'm going on wed because I messed up my neck at work.

I've used a Chiropractor for years but I recently read an article on MSNBC Health that stated you should NEVER let a Chiropractor adjust you above the shoulders. They can accidently cause small tears in small blood vessels in the kneck, which can result in a stroke or heart attack...and these can take place days after the adjustment. It's evidently fairly common...scaird the hell out of me and I told my Chiro to stop the neck adjustments.

A muscle relaxer and good massage will probably help relax the muscles enough to allow the vertebrae to go back in place. Good luck...I know it's painful.

I did something like that a few years ago. I just walked around looking like an idiot, swiveling my entire upper torso when I wanted to look left for a couple weeks and my body repaired itself.

    Get yourself one of these!
No joking, they are amazing,.......everytime mine starts up, I use it that night before bed, and see a big improvment.
It will hurt like heck when it hits the nerve or balled up muscle, as it is NOT a wimpy massager, but will work it out.
You can get them many different places.
I agree with ECC,.......while I still get my back adjusted, I also no longer have the "head snaps" done anymore, after reading the same info!

ECC: If this is the study you are talking about, it doesn't seem to be much of a chance:

big800, hang with it. If it isn't back to normal in a few days, see your doc, but you probably just slept with your neck in a bad position and stretched a muscle. It will likely go away on its own.

No...that's not the study I read about, nor the article I was referencing.

I would see a physical therapist. I get some sort of pain in the neck every now and them and at times it gets pretty bad but only when I don't exercise. As soon as I stretch and keep muscles limber it doesn't happen at all, one thing that helped a lot was a pull up bar and daily usage of it - keeps most of your back, neck, shoulders and arms, basically, all upper body, stretched.

Yes - do not let a chiropractor adjust above the shoulders. The prior comment about the possibility of something really bad happening is real. I know of a young lady that is no longer with us because of this exact scenario.

Now that.. is SAD! MOMMA told me never let anyone crack your back, Dr. or not.
Stands to reason,,, if it's bad to crack your knuckles, how can it be ok to crack your back?
