At the risk of appearing like I'm hijacking the thread -- how'd the hunting go? I recall you were sick.
I muffed a "gimme" shot at a nice doe, last season, under much the same circumstances. She and two other deer wandered by my blind, where I sat considering whether being in the woods was really the best thing to do, crappy as I felt. I reared up and swung around, got set, had the sights just so (at less than ten yards).... and my head kept on whirling, the rifle followed, and I put the shot in the dirt between her front feet.
They didn't even do me the courtesy of blowing and flagging, they just sort of trotted off. I thanked God for a wonderful day and a lesson learned, packed it in, and, once home, retreated into the bliss that is a large dose of Nyquil.
Though none of that qualified as bad, by a long shot, I hope your hunt went better.0 -
