I find that it's not necessary to go to church in order to have religion or faith. I was raised Catholic, but my faith is my own. I now all the mistakes I've made in my life were of my own weakness and free will so there's no one to blame but me. I don't ask for forgiveness because I feel it's my penitence to have to live with the wrongs I've done instead to ask for forgiveness. I fight my own demons. 0 -

For funerals or weddings is the only time I go.
Correction; The local Greek Orthodox church has "Greek Night" every year. I go for the baklava and lamb.

Don't attend organized church anymore. I was raised Lutheran (Catholic light as I call it) and my wife Catholic, she converted to Lutheran when we got married. About 5 years ago, we quit going when the Preacher tried to get us to fill a financial disclosure form out, telling the church all our financial holdings. There was also a church day care school that had been operating for years, but all of a sudden the Preacher changed the rules to mandate every teacher had to be a church member and a Lutheran. Well, 80% of the teachers quit and the head teacher started her own school and hired them all. So now the church school is closed. Tried a few other churches, but the first thing out of their mouths is asking for money, all the time. Sorry, but when the Preacher drives a Porsche, something is wrong. 0 -

I go to church every Sunday and Sunday night. The churches I had gone to in the past were like the ones other people described. They wanted money or they were hypocrites. I go to a local Nazarene church now and really enjoy it. The preacher is a good down to earth guy. They don't really care if they take up any money, they are just glad that you are there. It's the first time in my entire life that church is a fun experience and a place I want to be. Since the first day I've never felt like a visitor. They have always treated us like family. We usually go out to eat after church with the preacher and his family. It's a great experience. 0 -
Weddings and funerals, man. That's the only time I get to church. Sadly, I'm reaching the age where I get more churchin' than I'd like.

Seriously, lots of you have mentioned churches that do nothing but ask for money and the like. If that is the case, find another church! Money isn't the point. I don't think a church should have a lot of money sitting in the bank. It needs to be used! I hardly ever preach on giving. Usually once a year. After all, it does mention the tithe in the Bible. [;)] But I surely don't dwell on it. Giving is between you and God. What I give is between God and I. I have found, at my church, if we need money for something, and it's a "God thing," the money will show up. If it doesn't show up, we'd better re-address the issue and see if it's what we want or what God wants.0 -

I go on Sunday unless I am working or hunting etc. I usually make it there.
My kids go for religious ed there as well.
I like my church and the priest. He is still in the reserves and has already been to Iraq. He is a Lt. Commander (I think) in the Navy. He is also a former police officer.
I like most of my fellow parishioners.
When I was working LE, I would often check out for my lunch and would go to mass still in uniform. The priest told me a lady made a comment about me being in uniform with a gun once, but he didn't have any problem with it.
I recall some of the Detroit PD guys would go to church in uniform when I was a kid.
I assisted twice when off-duty and someone collapsed in church, until EMS got there. If I had been on duty, I could have used the radio to get medical on the way.
The priest also knows I've got his 6 if anything bad happens in church. It is unlikely but you never know.
Plus the K of C (Knights of Columbus) put on a breakfast once a month in the hall afterwards. I can feed all 4 of us for about $20 including coffee, milk and juice and the money goes toward religious orders.
Plus I can tell God thanks for all he has given me and ask for help in all that comes to me, and forgiveness for my shortcomings.
It's a pretty good deal if you ask me....0 -

2 Sunday Night Services
1 Wendsday Night Service
1 Saturday Morning Service
Plus there are special groups that meet almost everynight of the week, if you have the time the church is open.

Haven't been since I was around 16 years old, so that is close to 30 years.
I also believe it is between me, and the man upstairs, and I don't need to be in a mass of often "holier than thou" types, to be a Christian.

As much as possible. My wife and I are big supporters of our Church Youth Group which three of our daughters attend. We even had a Bon-Fire at our place for the Youth last Sunday, and I gave the message.

There's nothing wrong with preacher driving a Porsche. They are human as well, and have every right to pursue happiness as they see fit. No vows of poverty are taken by preachers. If his own budget allows him to drive the car of his choice, more power to him. What if he were a gun nut? Should he be prevented from collecting firearms?
Like anyone else with a job, he has a right to be paid for it at the highest salary he can negotiate.0
