Sorry to say he is 3rd or 4th string among the Republican voters. Maybe the libertarians will all vote for him but there aren't very many of those around.

The last I looked 8200+ votes were in and Ron PAul had 75% with his closest rival at 7%. He stomped on the competition according to the public poll in the last debate and he's doing it again. [:D] Funny. 0 -

Page not found. Looks like for the 20th time a poll he won handily has been pulled.
I saw it happen on msnbc, foxnews, and drudgereport after the other debates. He was in the lead usually by a lot, and the poll disappears.

Inasmuch as I don't believe in Jesus Paul, the flim-flammery regarding his polling is pretty ridiculous and indicative of the media's games.

All the crunchy-granola university types out here (y'know, the same ones that want to ban Red Cross blood drives because they're not equal-opportunity enough) are campaigning hard for Ron Paul, which is something I really don't understand. He seems to be one of the few candidates that's at all decent even in the basic sense of actually believing in anything, but why a guy who far as I'm aware is a hardcore libertarian type is appealing to socialists is beyond me. Don't they have Kucinich or Nader or something?
Anyone who sees him as a blame-America-firster clearly hasn't paid much attention to the current political environment, which has plenty of people who actually do believe that 9/11 was America's fault to the point of being convinced that Bush personally went through the Twin Towers sowing demolition charges the night of September 10th. From what I gather he believes that a 9/11-type attack was a to some extent predictable reaction from the jihadis we helped create to the existence of a strong opponent to their crazed fantasies of a second caliphate, and an event that could have been prevented had we been more cautious about the international scenario.
Which it was. Hell, it wasn't even the first time al Qaeda bombed the Twin Towers, we just didn't do jack-all about the muhajedin but chuck a couple cruise missiles in Osama's general direction until it was too late.
20/20 hindsight, maybe, but anyone who wants to be a little more careful to prevent mass deaths on American soil and the crumbling of American power before it happens is an alright guy in my book. Bush has basically been reading off the checklist of things Osama said he hoped would happen in his tapes after 9/11.0 -

He said that "blowback" was partially responsible for 9/11.
In other words...OUR GOVERNMENT'S MEDDLING in other countries governments and economic affairs contribute to fringies in those countries hating us.
ANYONE, who thinks there's not some grain of truth to that is living in an alternative universe.
WE, through our Government, which doesn't give a damn what we think when buying influence in foriegn lands, TAMPERS TOO MUCH WITH OTHER .GOVs.
While our .gov is doleing out funds STOLEN from hardworking people to curry favor with some shythead tinpot dictator for their oil or other natural resources, and in our naivete, think we're "helping" that country, seldom think about how much actually gets to the average citizens. Most of it is stuffed into pockets of unelected thugs, despots, dictators and unaccountable bureaucrats.
No wonder not just Islamofascists hate us.

Ron Paul has been specifically asked if he is a "911 Truther" and he said no. They then asked him "Well why do you go on Alex Jones (very vocal 911 truther)show?"
He responded: "I go on Fox News too and i don't agree with everything they say either."

I think it fairly obvious that a man who is running a under 5% in most polls would not be polling 45%+ during a debate absent some shenanigans. If, however, those that were watching the debate were focused on what the U.S. Constitution says rather than how good a candidate may make them feel, Paul would be at greater than 90%.
BTW: Nemesisenforcer, you may have missed them, but there are endless references that specifically show Paul dismissing your statement. It is fine if you do not want to research it, but you are speaking from a false premise.0
