Anyone know what happened to this great site? 0 -
Does anyone happen to know what happened to the website "packing.org"? For some reason it shows up in my google searches for 'carry or concealed weapons' but when you click the link it will not load for some reason.
This used to be a very informative site related to concealed carry laws and state regulations. I have not found another that was as comprehensive as packing.org.0 -
Is their site down. I can't get on it here. 0 -

Sad. Speezack is right, that was a helluva site! 0 -
Too bad... so, given those facts, is there another anywhere close in information... I see several that charge a fee for membership... I am looking for general but comprehensive info related to concealed carry?
As a bondsman of many years, I often do carry and sometimes travel out of state and as you may figure I sometimes have to deal with... let us say... rather unsavory characters?? I am legal in Virginia and reciprocal states but it is a touchy thing to be out of your jurisdiction and be packin'. I am not a "cowboy"... so I want to be legal (but ready for the unexpected)... very hard to do both in our current political environment... and without being specific... unfortunately some law enforcement view bondsmen in a negative way.... I always figured we were on the same page?
Anyway, having said all that... is there a like site available??
I appreciate the comeback... I just got on this forum and it seems quite informative.0 -
O.K. , really hate to hear that they have went down , was a great site . What about a 'carry permit' , most are now recipical(sp)?
and : I dont think the link (advertising) for your website will last , will most likely get poofed ???
Good Luck !!!

I wonder, does anyone even try to use search in the forum? Ever? 0 -
Ok, I removed the link to my website... about the only thing on it was basic information and frankly.... in all the years as a bondsman... the only contact I ever got from the web was for information... which is what the website is really about. People in jail generally make collect calls and don't usually have access to the web... the indemnitors that sign on the bonds usually look in the phone book or ask around locally... so the web is probably not the best advertising available for this particular business... unless of course you are located in a big city with 'mucho' competition... then I guess you need all the exposure you can get........[8D] I think I have had 2 calls in 10 years off the website... I do the site for the fun of it frankly... it's cheap! also, I bet "gunbroker.com" wouldn't object if I stuck a link to their website on my website" [:)] My site is clean, informative and totally above board...
one other thing...... what did "sneakyrussian" mean by "I wonder, does anyone even try to use search in the forum? Ever?" I looked for "packing.org" before I posted my question... didn't see a thing... but I'm a newby here, so I must have missed it.... thanks for the info........... I'm outa here.... [^]0 -
I think "sneakyrussian" had it right... I just ran another search for packing.org and got a bunch of hits... not sure what I did the first time.......... "I STAND CORRECTED" [V] 0
