Out of Movie Ideas
So, we all know that Hollywood has been out of movie ideas for the last, oh, 20 years at LEAST, with a couple of notable exceptions.
What I would love to see is a good director teaming up with a great script about more historical events.
For example, I would love to see a feature length movie about the Battle of Lepanto, a GOOD movie adaptation of the Song of Roland (yes I know it's largly fictionalized) Take the guy who directed Master and Commander and put him in front of the camera to do a movie about John Paul Jones (famous American sailor during the Revolutionary War.)
I'd even like a modern war flick about something besides WWII. Maybe a good movie about the battle at Chosin Reservoir.
So, what stories / events would you all like to see made into feature movies?

I like alternate history movies. Like what would happen if someone went back into time in the middle ages with a mini-gun and some other modern weaponry. Like the philadelphia experiment. 0 -
I would enjoy a movie about the battle off Cherbourg between the USS KERSAGE and the CSS ALABAMA.
A movie about the 1919 Invasion of the Soviet Union by U.S forces would be neat too. The troop was equiped with Mosin-Nagants to be able to use captured stores in the incursion. Very few Americans are knowledgable about this incident, but the Communist never forgot it.0 -
Doubt Hollywood would ever make such movies, as there would probably not be enough general interest in them to make money. 0 -

The dual invasions of England, in 1066, by Norwegians in the north and Normans in the south. Harold of England took the Norsemen apart and could have done the same to the Normans -- but couldn't take them one right after the other.
The American Volunteer Group (Flying Tigers). 100 borderline-obsolete P-40's, twenty-one deaths total (if memory serves), eight deaths in combat -- can't recall how many confirmed Japanese planes shot down, but the number was huge in proportion to the AVG's fighting strength.
George Rogers Clark's expedition against the British in present-day Indiana and Illinois, during the American Revolution. Zero deaths, multiple British or British-ruled targets captured.0
